Description I had so much fun drawing this! I've been trying to master inking with nib pens as of late on my list of art mediums I'm practicing with, and was so happy with how the ink lines came out that I decided to scan and post just the line art before coloring it in. To those who might be interested, I may potentially make a speedpaint when I go to color this one. Would anyone be interested in that sort of thing? Anyway, until then, thanks so much for your support as always and let me know what you think in the comments section. ^v^

~Izasusume! Chuikyuu shinryaku se yo...~ I think are the next lines, maybe. Ah goodness, I've watched that show so much I think I might have near-memorized the first opening. >v< That show has such catchy opening themes!

I would be interested!! -waves hand wildly- Do it!
And your inking skills have become so killer. O_________O It looks so professional! How long did you spend on this, may I ask?

Thank you so much! I couldn't get the camera to focus well on this one since there were so many little parts to color, so I was unable to finish the speedpaint for this one in the end, but I am planning on doing one still! Maybe I'll do one coloring a certain art trade project to make it up to you! Oh, and I didn't spend too long on the inks. Probably an hour to an hour and a half. The round nibs really move nicely along the paper, so I can get it done pretty quickly this way.

Marvelous work here! The line variation is quite impressive! I like the expression of the frog in the middle and the frog in the bottom left corner looks great too. Oh, and I also like how the flag overlaps the panels in the center. That creates some great depth in my opinion. Glad you're liking the 102 nib.

Ah, thank you so much! I really like how the one in the bottom left came out too, I think the linework came out the cleanest at that part for whatever reason. Thanks so much for recommending the 102 nib to me in the first place, bro, it really works super well on creating both thick as well as super fine lines.

Yeah, I actually have switched almost all of my inking now to that. Thanks for always giving such great art advice!

Woah, this is really awesome!!! The line art looks so fantastic and clear, and the details you've put into this are really good! ^_^
Isn't this art for the anime Sgt. Frog? The characters look really cool in this!

Daww, thank you so much! Yeah, this is from Sgt Frog, I love that show so much! I don't even typically watch much anime, but the localization and humor in this is so clever that I can't help but be hopelessly addicted. >v<'' It's also the rare anime where the English dub outdoes the Japanese one in many ways. I definitely recommend watching and getting the series if you ever get the chance. It's tragically underrated for how good it is, in my opinion.

Oh no problem, it's really awesome!!! ^_^

Yeah, I completely understand. It's great finding an anime you didn't expect to like as much as you end up liking it! And even better when the dub outdoes the sub xD

Oh I'd definitely watch it when I get the chance. I saw the first episode on YouTube a while back and my first reaction was, "This is weird... but CUTE!!!" xD

I understand that too, there are so many anime that deserve more attention then they get! ^-^'

Yeah, "weird, yet cute" definitely summarizes the general tone of that show! I'd say the show doesn't fully hit it's stride until about the episodes in the 20-somethings or so, but the ride building up to it is still very charming all the same! Except episode 18, I like to pretend it never happened. Glad you like it thus far! I usually prefer western animation over anime, but this show is the exception- it currently competes with the likes of Gravity Falls and Avatar the Last Airbender for all-time favorite!

Ahhck, thank you so much, bro! >v< I'm so glad you like it! I had a lot of fun inking this one, the 102 round nib is so versatile and really helps with getting the linework to be expressive. ^v^

How do you do it?? I can never be that patient for that kind of thing x'D

I also really am digging the facial expressions that you gave them; it fits them all very well.Β

I'd love to see how you color it! So I'll be the first in line to say that I wouldn't mind watching you do a speedpaint with this c:Β

Ahh, I wouldn't say that, your art's pretty rad too, y'know! You could totally draw something like this, methinks, and your detail skill with the written word is definitely Sistine Chapel ceiling mural-level, in my opinion. But thank you so much!

I actually drew the pencil lines for this on a sheet of cardstock and then used a lightbox tracer to transfer the in outlines on to a clean sheet of aquabee marker paper and drew the ink lines with one of those quill nib pens like what they use to ink comics with. I kept getting disillusioned with the G-nib I was using, so after inking two characters in I switched to a 102 round nib, which my comic art guru friend kept saying is the way to go with pen nibs. He was totally right on the money with that, I don't think I can go back to inking with anything else now. Β

Ah, and thanks again! I'll let you know if/when I finish recording the coloring process and whatnot.
