Once again, I disappear for months and return with something reasonably...large. Like this thing that I've been working on for eons, which is responsible for both killing and revitalizing my inspiration for art. Not at the same time.
BASICALLY... It's half a trade, half a commission, with who else but GoldenGriffiness ! And a very big trade/commission at that. If you're unaware of Goldy's 'Legend of Cynder' fanfiction series...clearly you haven't been watching me for very long, because I've done a fair bit of art for it.

This particularly artwork refers to the third installment of the series, which follows the DotD timeline...and has yet to be written. Get on with it, Gold! On the left there is Travix the blood dragon, brainchild of Dardarax , who lent him to Goldy to undergo unfathomable changes to his design and character. On the right, Viriti and Myst, and Kaboa the spirit dragoness looming over everyone in the back, all Goldy's characters. And if you don't know Spyro, Cynder and Sparx, what are you doing here?
And I don't know what else to say, because I've been working on this piece for so long that my brain is all confuzzled now that it's done. Send help.

Ok, I've been following this fic since I discovered it.
As far is one of the best fanfics I've ever seen, with a simple premise that ended being a colossal idea changing roles of the two main protagonists, leading to a whole new timeline.
Still I see this as one of the best alternate timelines I've even seen!
And the fanarts that comes are so wonderful!
You and GoldenGriffiness are such a great duo making this beautiful, stunning and majestic piece of art!
I must say it, once I entered the Spyro fandom, I saw such talented and wonderful people not only doing amazing fanfics, also incredible fanarts and more! And I just say, I want to be like them, be part of this amazing fandom, contribute with stories and art that people cann see amazing or cute.

If all of your other works are already fantastic, then this is in a league of its own. There are so many things I want to say about this incredible piece of art so without further delay: WHOA! AMAIZING! BRILLIANT! AWESOME! OHMYFREAKINGOD! WOW! This looks like it's a snapshot from an awesome animation or a new game cover art.
There is nothing in this drawing that doesn't have something jaw doppingly beautiful in it. The detail is second to none, I can't imagine how long this took you to do but it was worth every second of it for sure. The environment is pure fantasy eye candy with those luminous spirit gems, the water, that sunbeam, the long grass and tall woodland. Even the small niches like the lily pads or the water drops from the cave's stalactites for add just that little bit more to this beautiful creation. Truly magical it is River.
The characters look breathtaking! In fact, this is the best everyone here has ever looked, even Cynder who I guess had the hardest pose to draw considering its front on. I love how her wings are spanned out and upwards to mirror Kaboa, so cool! The wilting of the hopelily is a really REALLY nice touch and it too looks stunning. The poison on Spyro's claws and the emerald glint in his eyes is just so awesome, I can't get over how cool it looks. Travix has a really cool pose as well and his and everyone else's gaze and eyes are mesmerising, Cynder's inparticular. I feel frozen by her stare and Spyro's only adds to that paralysis. Sparx... what can I say about him other than that he looks so beautiful I wanna squeeze him. The concern in his gesture is so real and his subtle glow works brilliantly. Myst and Viriti, OMG! I love it, they are so god damn adorable. Viriti's tail coiling around Myst's leg feels so sweet along with her riding along Myst's back. The purple sap necklace with the butterfly combing to life and flying away is just completely magical. And of course, the quality in the detail of the everyone's wings, scales, fur, ghosts is excellent beyond compare. The dark shading and colourful highlights of everyone gives this magnificent piece it's sharp edge that is unparalleled with the rest of your art. I love it all.
I have no idea how you do it River but you deserve all the praise in the world. I can't imagine what Goldie must have done to convince you to bring this fantastic display of creative genius to life but well done indeed. I know I sound like a broken record when I say this but it just needs to be said.
You are the greatest Spyro artist ever, and this... this is Perfection.

So I left DA and Fanfiction for like a year (or three) and then I come back and see this on top of the other work you have done. Firstly, congratulations. You did amazing on this commission and it's amazing to see how much you have improved from the last time I saw you. I feel like the thing you did best though is the perspective of everyone in the image. How you managed to make the image look three-dimensional while also having such a detailed background and characters...it truly astounds me.
Congratulations once again on this amazing artwork, River. I can't wait to see more of these from you.
