Description So this piece was a huge nostalgia trip for me. I mean, seriously; roleplaying this guy is the main thing that got me writing and drawing on this site in the first place. Oooh, look at how steriotypical I was: oddistortion.deviantart.com/ar… oddistortion.deviantart.com/ar…

So when this competition came along, asking for my favourite character, things really clicked for me; I owed Blumiere that tribute. (Honestly, my that old inner fangirl is thrashing me around, asking me to make more, though. Aaa. D
Seriously, though, it's an awesome theme and idea for a contest: raddedd.deviantart.com/journal…
I just know I'm gonna get thrashed around by the other brilliant artists entering, but... The progress, and nostalgia, and feels I got from making this makes it all more than worthwhile. Pretty done with detailing capes now, though, I mean seriously. e-e
(Maybe when I try again in however many years, the background won't be so cluttered? Aaa. D: )
No, seriously, that background makes me angry. Should fix it. D:

xD Oh, I used to have an addiction to those blurry tools. They were really fun; the shading programming in sai kinda stopped me from making nice colour combos, though. D: So you didn't find photoshop to be too clunky? I've heard many people use it for touch-ups in the final stages, not for the actual sketching, is all.
Never tried using Slip Studio Paint. Why do you think you use it for the painting; does it just feel nicer to use?

Yeah, there's an 2 hour trial on Steam, I think? That's where I got it, anywho, this time last year. Didn't want to spend any more on games, pretty much. Never thought I'd use it this much. xD

Clip Paint Studio has some effects that it does in photoshop, including unlimited multiple layers. (i would think cuz i never had a problem with layers on CSP)

I don't do lineart in photoshop b/c they have no fine brush tip. CSP does, and has a better eraser tool. but i use photoshop to get certain brushes b/c CSP doesn't have a wide range. i don't think it has a preset to add new brushes either. which sucks :/

I don't wanna waste time going back and forth for different tools and/or effects from multiple programs. CSP and PS together have what i need.

CSP is almost sorta like sai and ps put together, but it's not perfect.

Oh, okay. ^^ Yeah, I like being able to do all of my work on one program if I want to, also. I usually do, unless I feel like smoother shading. ^^
CPS sounds interesting, though. I may download the trial for when I feel like a change. ^^

Still gonna get the demo, as I'm not sure it'll bring anything new to my figurative toolbox. ^^

Oh, I'm so glad to hear you like it! He was a really fun character to revisit. ^^
