My assignment for the MoonClan prompt ft. my meddy boy Hopelight and Patchy's StarClan gal Rhymefall!

Rhymefall:

"A Wave of Sadness Will Soon Wash Over All Clans. For the Skies and Water to Keep Flames and Ice from Clashing, They Must Look to the Capistrate Bird that Flies with the Rays of Dawn."

Hopelight:

Closing his own eyes, Hopelight listened intently as the words of the prophecy washed over him, silently memorizing them word-for-word.

"....Woah," the tom finally murmured as he opened his eyes, taken aback by the message. "That's...a lot to take in. ....The "'wave of sadness will soon wash over all clans'" bit especially doesn't sound like a good thing, huh...?"

Turning his gaze to meet the StarClanner's, he searched Rhymefall's expression, his fur prickling slightly with unease. "Um...might I ask a question?" he mewed politely, hesitating. "And if so I hope me asking that didn't count as the question, eheh..."

Rhymefall:

Rhymefall’s soft eyes smiled warmly as she sat, long white tail curling around her paws daintily. “You may ask me. What would you like to know?”

Hopelight:

"Ah, thanks Rhymefall." Returning her smile with one of gratitude, the tom took a deep breath, the words of the prophecy still ringing in his ears as he continued to think them over.

"If it's okay to ask about the prophecy..." he started, sort of pacing where he stood. "There's one part that I can't seem to fully wrap my head around...the part about the bird?"

"What...or who is this capistrate bird that flies with the rays of dawn? Or better yet-- how can we find them?"

Rhymefall:

Rhymefall thought for a moment, then stated: “The dawn is close by, but you won’t find it by looking in the dark. The bird is farther, but he is drawn to the one who howls in the rain, who shares your home.”

Hopelight:

Hopelight faltered in his pacing, his expression almost blank-looking as he looked back at Rhymefall-- blank except for the unfortunate look of confusion that was imminent on his face. "Oh..." he began, slowly sitting down as he tried to process this. "Oh dear.....are you sure your name isn't Riddlefall?" he lightly joked amidst his confusion, a small playful smile pulling at his muzzle.

"Eheh, sorry..." Shaking his head, he sat up straighter, mumbling a bit under his breath as he repeated the words that were spoken to him by the Star Friend. "'Dawn is close by, but you won't find it by looking in the dark....and the bird is farther, but drawn to the one who howls in the rain, who shares your home...'"

"....I'm sorry-- I'm a bit confused about this...." he mewed quite lamely after a long pause, his ears drooping with embarrassment. "Is it possible to elaborate more on the Dawn? They're close by...and can't be found in the dark...but is closer to us than the Bird? And the Bird seems to be drawn to something-- or someone, --in our home....?"

Rhymefall:

Rhymefall smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry, StarClan likes to work in riddles...ah, let me..."

She looked around, as if checking to make sure no one was spying on her. When the coast seemed clear, she leaned in, whispering: "Your Clanmate Drizzlewolf knows the bird, and the dawn is always accompanied by the sun."

Hopelight:

Pricking his ears at the sound of his friend's name, the medicine cat perked up. "Drizzlewolf...!" he whispered back eagerly, excited about this lead before nodding vigorously. "Understood!"

"And the dawn is accompanied by the sun...wait-! ...You don't mean SunClan, do you...?" Squinching his nose and lowering his head in deep thought, he mused over this part of the prophecy before looking up at Rhymefall quizzically. "The Rays of Dawn is in SunClan...?"

Rhymefall:

Rhymefall winked at him, before backing away and looking around again as if she was expecting a scolding. "I'm sorry, I can't answer any more questions...for now." she mewed, "but you're on the right track."

Hopelight:

Blinking, Hopelight suddenly shot up onto all fours, realizing he pretty much had a full question-and-answer session with the StarClanner. "Oh g-goodness...!" he stammered, his ears reddening. He really had to get better at this prophecy-deciphering part of his job. "Yes of course-- I understand. Oh gosh I hope I didn't get you in trouble..."

Motivated by her last few words, though, he gave her a strong nod-- a bright smile of gratitude causing his golden eyes to crinkle. "Thank you for the help Rhymefall-- I appreciate it more than you know." he purred warmly. "I'll do my bestest!"

Rhymefall:

Rhymefall smiled at him, "I know you will. I'll talk to you again soon," she promised, and with that, leapt upwards to re-join the stars above.

TL;DR Rhymefall is an absolute homie and Hopelight isn't the smartest banana in the bunch xD

As for how I believe he interprets the prophecy:

"A Wave of Sadness Will Soon Wash Over All Clans." - Seems to either be about an upcoming war or upcoming deaths in all the clans...or both.

"For the Skies and Water to Keep Flames and Ice from Clashing," - "The skies" seem to be MoonClan and SunClan and "Water" seems to be RainClan and SeaClan. Rhymefall is talking about how to stop the potential "Flames" and "Ice" (FireClan and SnowClan) war.

"They Must Look to the Capistrate Bird that Flies with the Rays of Dawn." - The "capistrate bird" I believe is Robinhood from FireClan, and the "Rays of Dawn"...could be Dawnstripe from SunClan? These are the ones who can help stop this potential war from breaking.

hmhmm as for what it really means tho, all we can do is wait and see q w q
