Description
"Training, Training, everybody , everywhere,
Training, Training, everybody, do your share."
(Yes, I've sung the "clean up" song too many times with little people )
-----
Finally figured out how I'm organizing my trainers and horses and what everyone is supposed to be doing!
So here is a "day in the life of Aimee" - one of my Minnesota trainers, with her four-legged "crew" that she is responsible for.
Trainer: Aimee Stone
-----
IS Double Vision
(Belgian Warmblood | dapple grey | 3 yrs old | stallion)
Goal: first backing (helper: Rachel Darby ) accept weight on his back and rider's touch on both sides while laying over saddle
remain calm with rider sitting upright on his back and be led at the walk
learn to walk and halt to rider's aids and without ground trainer
Aimee recruited Rach to help with this critical phase of training for the young warmblood stallion. Bond has had alot of handling and ground work, and he handled today's training well. A little uncertain about the new sensation of someone on his back, but he realized he can still move and by the end of the session was relaxed and blowing. Very sensitive to the aids, so only light direction was needed to change gaits and direction. Too much pressure led to a little explosion! Oops!
-----
SVI Loki Of Asgard
(Bayaro | red dun splash | 6 yrs old | stallion)
Goal: jump training practice shortening/lengthening strides & rhythm over caveletti
work on approach to fence and correct take-off
relax and round over the jump, lift forelegs clear
Loki has some jump experience (even a little show) but Aimee wanted to work on improving his form and consistency. They warmed up with some ground work (ALWAYS start with Loki on the ground for best results!) and once the communication and respect were flowing, they worked on ridden practice on the flat and over poles and caveletti. Loki did well, so they did some grid work with simple low cross rails and verticals. First try, Loki went nuts and Aimee ended up back on the ground - literally! (Turned out the silly stallion had seen a rabbit near the end of the arena and spooked.) Took about 5 minutes of groundwork and Aimee was back in the saddle and they finished on a great note with several successful run throughs.
-----
SWF Glimmer Of Hope
(Paint Horse | grey silver bay roan tovero | <1 yr old | filly)
Goal: halter training accept the halter and leadrope calmly
respond to pressure by giving
Hope had been handled since birth and was just the sweetest natured little girl, so this was not a challenging training session for her or Aimee. She had been lead along side her mother before, but today was just practicing by herself. Once she understood what was expected, (and that she got pets and snuggles too!) she was a very willing like a little puppy. She did so well in fact, that she and Aimee took a little walk outside of the arena!

Thank you! I love a lot of things about this set, including the paper texture, simple settings and having to think about what the training goals and results were here.

Thank you! It was really fun to do, and I like having a little written goals+how the training went for each horse. I think I want to do more of this.

Do you outline in pen and then color? Because I am needing major help with coloring my horses.
But I LOVE this. It makes my soul happy and I don't know why!!

For these I do line first and then colour (if I use my watercolor pencils, I have to colour first before lining as my pens aren't waterproof). I probably shouldn't do it on this textured paper, but it is cheap and I go through SO MUCH paper these days with drawing on a daily basis, that it pays to not put all my art on my best paper.
I'm glad to hear it makes you happy!

Doesn't he though?!
(By the way, I may open some limited breeding slots to him once he turns four. You can certainly have a free slot if you would like! He might even be 4 stars by then. )

I've been thinking about actually bringing back Aidan, but I'd love to take you up on that offer as well!! I'm so glad you've been such a loving home for him <3
