Bah. It looks better on the paper. Darn scanner ruined the colors.... (snigger)Note: A reference was consulted when drawing this composition.

I'm curious as to the paper used. It looks very textured.

I used regular old heavyweight, multipurpose art paper. It doesn't harness any special texture; my dad's scanner just tends to alter the look of almost any type of paper I use, giving it an interesting "digital" texture.

I do still have to use references for the most part, unfortunately, although I can pretty much draw Russell's profile without looking at any screen shots. A reference was used for this particular composition, of course. Heheh.

The reason why I asked is because I haven't seen anything from the movie, screencaps, pictures, etc .... just the trailer floating around on the web.

I got to say, this is the most adorable drawing you ever created of Russell. You had great use of color using colored pencil on him. Also, the lighting and texture you effort on is well done. Keep it up!

I just watched the UPisode of "Meet Kevin" (which I knew already is actually a girl) and I adore that character. When I showed it to my mom and family, they can't help it but say, "I want one. I know let's get one at Disney Store!"

Actually, I simply used regular ol' heavyweight, multipurpose paper. The scanner that I use tends to alter the look of my sketchbooks' paper, for some reason. Heh.
