I assume the foreground ship is the Baden/Bayern? (either way, amazing piece, I'd love to get the game as well but...I wish I could get it through steam, that yahoo site scares me on many levels)Β

thanks - i was basing the ships on specific ships from the war, I forget which specifically off the top of my head now, - i have been working on many other ships since thing for various things, working on some scenes from Dogger Bank and Jutland at the moment .
Have no fear about the yahoo site, i know its legit, i have bought many a game through it. It would be cool if Steam could offer it also though too

Didn't work for the Kaiser though. They were fine ships but most of them wound up on the bottom at Scapa Flow after WWI.

sadly yes, it is a shame that at the end of a war such castles of steel, the toil of hundreds thousands even to create just end up on the sea bed

It's like a wall on the sea. A wallΒ of armored metal, smoke and artillery.

Congratulations! I'm in friendly contact with the designer, Fredrik Wallin, but seeing your work "live" is even more impressing... Do you work for other wargame publishers too?

Hi Reckall, sorry for the delay in my reply - i often miss the notifications for new coments on dev art.
I have done some art for Norbsoft - really that though was a last minute bit of luck and perhaps kindness on their part as i was able to add some art to the splash screens.
I have been doing an enormous volume of work for Historical Game Company LLC, regarding the Great Northern War - its all for a game and also surround articles and a compendium book on the Great Northern War - i have been doing so much art for it of many of the battles, skirmishes, uniforms, armies, anecdotal events, portraits etc - it will be cool when it is all published.
I would like to do more for other game companies, - like Matrix Games, Slitherine, etc etc - in time i hope i can win them over!

It's beautiful, the way the coal smoke billows as it meets the ashen sky.

It is a very realistic game, and you can even design your own warships using historical parameters. Basically, you can also play as a naval designer within the restrictions (not only technological, but also political!) of the era.
If you love the period like I do, it is, by all means, an excellent game.
