Description
- Pre-Eclipse UI (i.e. until late May, 2020) preview of the ASCII art image’s plain text version. Includes header and copyright, on deviantART’s profile widget’s mint default color. – Who needs a “webcam” ?
- The original image was inversely rendered, and flattened to balance the line height of the website. In other words, the website contains less lines to fill a square than the original image. Generating the ASCII image gave only a clue about looks and size. Eventually all contents including tags for formatting and the non-breakable space special characters had to be typed and better saved as a separate file before uploading.
- Using code HTML tags for mono-spacing, as well as bold and inverse tags for enhanced contrast and shading. Further there had characters or character combinations to be replaced, to prevent hash-tagging, or smileys.
- For rendering the header, figlet’s default font actually looked the best. The program features some Japanese katakana font, but yet no Korean Hangul. Hence I created my own version of 안녕 annyeong for “hello.” Anyway due to the website’s line height, the header displays a bit stretched.
- Note, while all the textual contents can be copied and pasted, multiple spaces can not.
- There’s a drawback regarding real text in the browser however: Depending on the width of the column or the block element on the screen, there might be line-breaks which will corrupt the whole thing. Hence it can be better to use a screen shot from the ASCII art piece instead.
