Well, someone is making a "Five Nights At Freddy's" movie, so someone should make an "Undertale" movie too. Hell, take cancel the FNAF movie, and give the funding to Undertale!
But who would be cast as Undyne? Hmmm.....

Perhaps a third option? Since it's heavily implied that Sans works with a multi-dimensional organization or entity (possibly Gaster; a character literally hidden within the data of the game), the story could follow a small child who lost their memory, and wakes up in an abandoned underground city. The child soon discovers Gaster, who begins to guide the child around the city, revealing memories from Frisk. Periodically, the child receives horrific flashes of memories from Chara as well, contradicting the memories of Frisk.
As the original stories from the game unfold, Gaster tells his story, implying that he was there for both sides. As they near "the end" of the stories, Gaster explains to the child that he has been everywhere at all times, and the one thing that truly changes is the child.
It turns out that when Gaster was scattered out of "existence", Frisk/Chara/the child was born as a physical manifestation of the broken rift that holds Gaster in a state of limbo.
Now caught up with both stories, Gaster offers the child a chance to be returned whole, and in doing so, returning Gaster to his life. He proceeds to explain that the child is the thing that both sides share; DETERMINATION.
As the child agrees, they are flooded with both memories of Chara and Frisk at once, granting the child the strength of Chara and the mind of Frisk.
Being forged into once person, the child takes a moment to think straight. Gaster then calmly apologizes and admits that the child needs to die in order to get rid of the rift.
And so on, and so forth.
