This is tyr son of Odin, a character of nordic mythology, god of war (I'm not sure), this paint is special, because, the face is mine, jajaja yes! I am the god!... well only the face, that is not my body.make in photoshop and pencil

Tyr is the god of hunt and bravery. His rune is an arrow, one would carve the rune on your bow for luck when hunting

Ye, Tyr's actually a god of war, but also he was the warden of the sacred "thing", which was the germanic gathering of all free men to discuss or hold a court to make clear whether or not somebody was guilty in a crime.
Tyr is my fav. nordic god, too. Did you know that he once was the Chief of the Aesir, but was later replaced by Odin?

I was taught that Tyr was the god of Justice... Most of the Norse gods were gods of war. Would be just a bit silly to have a god of war when all the gods are warriors.

Yes, Tyr IS indeed the god of Justice, that's why I mentioned the "thing", which is by all means the court of the Germanic tribes. All free men came together to decide for important matters of politics as well as justical means. Tyr being the protector and patron of the thing does make him a god of justice. :3

Nordic mythology eh?! i love all the ancient religions... though i've never heard of Tyr, perhaps i know him by another name, Thor or something perhaps. anywho, awesome pic the colours are great and i love that you've put your face on a god

oh yeah, i remember now! they tied up Fenris with a chain but Fenris wouldn't let them unless someone put their hand in his mouth... poor Fenris not his fault he's a giant man eating wolf!
