Description Pigma Micron Markers on Canson Comic Book Board.

I was asked by an online friend/client to do a sample comic book page for a project that he has in the works. I did so, and this is the result. This page has NOTHING to do with the actual project...it was JUST an exercise to see what I could do. I did it pencil to finished inks in less than a day. A fair schedule I think. I'm not 100% happy with it, but the client seemed to like it well enough. There is NO money in the project up front, but it might be a fun part time job with a little cash in the future if it happens. So now I must decide if I want to do a portion of a full comic book so he can submit it to a few independent publishers to see if he gets any nibbles.
Way back in the 80s, I did one issue of a comicbook during the 80s Comics Glut, when there were just too many new comics for the market to support. That was about the last time I did an serious comic work. When I decided to do this page one BIG difference I noticed between doing comics in the 80s and doing comics today is the INTERNET! Today you can find photo ref in an instant! Back in the 80s I had to photograph myself any and all reference that I needed, then wait for the film to be developed. How times have changed!

This is wonderful! I had to read it twice before I noticed it's an MJB comic without any "babes". In any case, nice job. I'd love to see you do a whole comic...

Not my story, so NO GIRLS...at least NOT on this page.
Thanks for the kind words.

Nice tiger! Big cats always cause me trouble when I sit to draw them.

Well, I'm not completely happy with MINE. But it's a start. I don't think the tiger looks the same in any two panels.

Awesome job on this. It kind of reminds me of the movie Fire & Ice with the cavemen and the fantasy elements. Are you considering coloring this is the future? Or is it going to stay black and white? Well either way this looks super awesome.

It's probably just what it is. It was JUST a sample for a possible job. If I decide to do teh actual project, I plan on polishing the art even more.

Well I'll be looking forward to seeing what you do. If you do end up doing the project. Since the comic page you did is very awesome.

You are too kind. And if I do the project, you'll have to buy the comic to see the art of course.

You may indeed ask. A B&W superhero book titled 'BRAINGLO' by PSI Comics. Their one and only title and issue.

Poor film development businesses...never knew what hit 'em!
