i MADE THIS TUTORIAL BASED ON THE MANIP OF THE THUMB, BUT I THINK IS A SIMPLE WAY FOR BEGINNERS TO MANIP AND ONLY ON 3 STEPS..HOPE IT WORKS FOR ANYONE, AND IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEM/DOUBT YOU CAN ALWAYS NOTE ME ILL BE GLAD TO HELP

fantastic. thanks i did not know about applying colours to background. eg gradients etc

I did everything i needed to do with the pen tool but the object i wanted to cut out it filled with color...

try right click, then make selection and then copy, and paste it on another layer..

You are a *saviour*.
People always tell you, in photomanipulation tutorials to 'cut' your image, but never say how! I've always thought to myself "I see these stock images, see what I could do with them, and can't because I can't extract them properly with the damn magic wand!"
And here we are: turns out, it's the pencil tool!

haha your welcome, im glad its useful i though i was, since i was like you a while ago, a its so complicated to cut right an image with the magic wand or lasso tool :S but now you know how useful is the pen tool
