Description
This is part of an art trade with my friend Rachel [link] who wanted to be drawn with an alien symbiote attached to her like one of her favorite Marvel villains Carnage.I decided to go for a mid-transformation look so that I could show both her face and the symbiote. I also decided to go with her other favorite colors for the symbiote since making it red and black would have clashed with her red hair and Carnage. I also decided to give her symbiote tendrils on the head to resemble hair since it would add to the feminine look of it overall and also give it more of a wild appearance.
As an afterthought I decided to add in Carnage/Cletus Cassidy in mid transformation as well since I've wanted to draw something with the character for a while and this seemed like a perfect opportunity to do it.

Love them as well. Also love Aquaman, Plastic Man, Nightwing, Blue Beetle and Booster Gold. I also like Green Lantern but mostly Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner. I like Hal when he's written right.

I liked John but they kind of revamped him once he was put into the Justice League cartoon. Like before that he was always looked at as the failed Green Lantern. He joined the Darkstars and that went badly as well for him so he sort of retired and went back to civilian life on Earth and mentored Kyle Rayner when Hal went crazy and murdered the entire GL Corps.
Guy is just a hilarious dick. He pretty much fought with all of his teammates because of his abrasive attitude and overblown ego. Batman knocked him out with one punch when he challenged him to a fistfight without his ring on.
Blue Beetle (Ted Kord) and Booster are literally my favorite BFFs in DC comics. They just screw around and try get rich quick schemes as much as they do actual super hero work.

Nah Blue Beetle and Booster Gold are more like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart in Jumanji or Will Ferrell and Wahlburg in The Other Guys. They're best friends but they bicker and screw up as much as they help people.
I didn't really like that Blue Beetle, I was always a fan of Ted Kord. He was the fun one to me and I always loved his costume.
Yeah Hal lost his mind when his home Coast City was wiped out by Cyborg Superman and Mongol. So because of this Parallax was able to corrupt him through his ring and then possess him once he made it to Oa and absorbed the central power battery into himself. Hal slowly fought off his insanity and corruption and ended up dying saving the Earth from the Sun Eater during the Final Night crisis. He was merged with The Specter for a while to atone for his sins and then he was eventually brought back to life and he revived the entire GL Corps if I recall right

It's a funny movie and if you play video games you'll get every joke in it.
It's okay. There have been three Blue Beetles so far. The Golden Age one was an archaeologist who discovered a magical scarab gem that transformed him into an armored costume. He fought during World War 2. Decades later he became friends with Ted Kord who is an industrialist and inventor who is a fanboy of superheroes and the Blue Beetle was his favorite. The original Blue Beetle died in a cave in before he could pass the magic scarab to Ted who he had always meant to be his replacement. Ted blamed himself for his friend's death so he became the Blue Beetle but used his engineering skills to make an armored costume, light gun and bug ship. The newest one is a kid who found an alien scarab that attached itself to his spine and can transform him into an armored suit filled with weapons. Another fun fact about Ted Kord is he helped the Justice League install all their equipment in their original headquarters.
Ah see I never read those ones. I stopped collecting DC Comics right before New 52 happened. I got pissed off they were killing so many characters I liked and were revamping their timeline again for no real reason other than to bring back the confusing multiple earths concept they had before 1980s Crisis on Infinite Earths fixed everything.

yes, same. I don't mind if they change costumes a bit or upgrade equipment as long as it makes sense and it's an improvement. Like as famous as his original costume was when they gave Captain Boomerang the trench coat and wool cap I thought it was an upgrade and made him look more dangerous and sneaky. Plus now you didn't know how many boomerangs he had on him because of the coat so I thought it gave him an edge in fights.

I never liked the Ultimate Universe. I felt all they did was try way too hard to make every character the X-Games Extreme version of the main universe character. Like most times they would amplify that specific character's worst traits in the Ultimate version or just try to be shocking with it. Like making Captain America almost a racist, making Hank Pym an overly abusive husband and wife beater, making Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch engage in incest... it was just not good to me at all.
I also never liked Force Works as a team in the main Marvel universe. It was again almost the same thing of "Let's take the Avengers West Coast, give them a new name and then have them become dark and violent" They also killed Wonder Man in the first issue for lame shock value and replaced him with Centruy, a really weird and forgettable character.

MJMJR In reply to msfmafan [2020-01-01 06:32:33 +0000 UTC]
Yeah not a lot of people like his character. I think it's because they keep tweaking his origin and mental illness that it turns people off to him. Like they just made him overly complicated to deal with.
Did you know the Sentry was created as part of an elaborate prank by Marvel and Wizard Magazine?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
MJMJR In reply to msfmafan [2020-01-02 17:38:13 +0000 UTC]
Yeah Wizard wrote a fake article claiming this old sketch of this character called The Sentry was found in the archives when they were in the process of digitally scanning old files at Marvel. The Sentry's folder was complete with an old character sketch, notes on his origins and powers. In the article Stan Lee and the now deceased co-creator totally forgot about the character and he got lost in the frenzy of them trying to produce the original 1960s era books at the time.
So the fake article basically mimicked the origin story in the limited series that introduced the Sentry. A long forgotten hero gets reintroduced into the Marvel Universe. It was a good prank and it got people interested in the character. But once that initial limited series ended everything they tried with the Sentry kind of fell flat and they just kept making his origins and powers more and more complicated and weird. About the only time they sort of used him properly was during the Mighty Avengers run and Dark Reign event.

Yeah he did and Cletus had robot legs for a while afterwards and then the symbiote grewhis legs back for him. Sentry's go to move is to throw people into space, into the sun or rip them in half. He did the same thing to Ares and scared the shit out of everyone because he literally ripped a god in half.

Well yeah it didn't help that Norman Osborn was driving him even more insane than he already was in order to manipulate him easier. It backfired and Sentry lost control during the assault on Asgard Osborn instigated and Thor ended up killing Sentry and sent his body into the sun. But Sentry revived and he keeps coming back from death every time he's seemingly killed or tries to kill himself. Doctor Strange and Reed Richards have both stated they don't think there is any way to actually kill the Sentry permanently.

Scarecrow is one of my favorites as well. They always managed to make him super creepy in the 1990s animated series. Especially his later black and gray noose outfit. I also love Marvel's scarcrow because he's just such a creepy wacky ass.

I think at this point Adam Driver would make a good Professor Crane. He looks more like the comic book version physically and I think he's a great actor and could pull off Crane's creepy intensity.

me i would use either brad douriff aka chuckie from childs play movies and jeffery combs the re animater and he did play crane in the last season of the animated series of the 90's

Adam Driver is Kylo Ren in the new Star Wars movies. But I have seen him in other films and host Saturday Night Live and he's really good at playing a lot of different characters.
I like Cillian Murphy as well but I always felt he was too good looking to be Crane. Crane is supposed to be a tall, somewhat awkward and lanky dude with a big nose and thin face. Which is part of the reason he went insane. He got tired of being mocked for his appearance. As a child he was bullied and called Ichabod Crane.
I do like Brad Douriff, I felt he was miscast in the first Blade movie but still I liked his performance. If we're going strictly by the Batman universe I would cast Brad as Clayface. He's really good at playing angry, tortured characters and I think he'd be an awesome Matt Hagen/Clayface.
I think Combs would be perfect for The Riddler. He's very good at playing snarky, brilliant people who are slightly crazy and I think he'd bring a very cool edge to Edward Nigma.

I think because later the Legion of Doom and the similar Injustice League started using the Joker because his unpredictability and planning meshed well with Luthor's plans the Scarecrow and Riddler got aced out of the group. Though from what I've seen Luthor just sort of tolerates Joker and is smart enough to never trust him. He just knows that his chaotic way of thinking always throws the heroes off balance.
The only person Scarecrow seems capable of teaming up with for extended periods of time is Mad Hatter. The two of them seem to have a weirdly strong friendship. Which honestly I find refreshing among villains.

you can also say the same with heatwave and cold and the rest of the rogues at least in the earlier comics they were said to be like a family i almost see the same in the arrowverse

Yeah that was a funny moment. It's also cool they kept that aspect of the rogues in the shows.
The rogues were always shown as being a tight group which I always enjoyed. They sniped at one another and argued but in the end they always seemed to get over it and work together. I recall in Underworld Unleashed James Jesse/The Trickster talking about how tight their group was except when it came to Abra Cadabra. They all thought he was too psychotic and unpredictable to team with or let into their group, same with Professor Zoom/ Reverse Flash.
Marvel did the same thing with some of Spider-Man's villains with the Sinister Syndicate. They argued and fought a lot but for the most part most of them stayed friends or at least still teamed for crimes despite the original group falling apart.
