Description
"Compassion is the Autobots' downfall." is the motto of Cyclonus, the Decepticon saboteur and second in command of Galvatron's forces.The planet-sized Transformer Unicron used the dead bodies of Transformers to create Cyclonus and his air force. Might and confidence personified, Cyclonus is highly intelligent, one of the most powerful Transformers in existence and above all else he is loyal to Galvatron and the Decepticon way of life.
A harsh but fair lieutenant, Cyclonus has earned the respect of those loyal to Galvatron and the fear of those who would oppose him. Even the most daring would-be usurper of the Decepticon leadership is halted in their tracks when they realize they would have to go through Cyclonus to get to Galvatron.
I couldn't decide what version of him to go with so I sort of did an amalgamation of Cyclonus from the comics, cartoon and toys. I made the grid background as an homage to the scene in the original animated Transformers movie where he is created by Unicron.

Actually, I think the other "Cyclonus" was supposed to be "his Armada", according to Unicron. So like Scourge's Sweeps, Cyclonus' Armada was meant to be a bunch of Cyclonus clones, presumably. But that idea was clearly scrapped in the next scene.

I know I read that was the original concept but they scrapped it mid production but the animation had already been done. It's kind of a common thing with Marvel/Sunbow where they would throw characters in scenes where they shouldn't be or have doubles of them. If you watch the original G.I. Joe they do it quite a few times there as well.

I think I read the trivia section on it on IMDB if I recall right. I love reading movie and TV trivia like that.
TFWiki is awesome. I love their bio on Skywarp and Kup. The captions on the images are usually hilarious.

At least I think it was on TFWiki. I can't be sure though. I personally think that TFWiki is better than its counterpart, Transformers.wikia.com, because it's slightly more authenic, accurate and complete. Why do think they with the Wikia equivalent? I think it was slightly unnecessary in my opinion. I mean, it's alright but TFWiki is definitely superior.

I have to agree. I've only ever gone on TFWiki since their articles are much more thorough and when I introduce the characters to friends it's easier for them to read and relate to the characters from their articles.

It's an animated gif I made of Wonder Man from Marvel Comics. He's my all time favorite super hero.

Oh yeah, I can understand that completely. You can obviously tell that username and avatar are named after my No.1 favourite Transformer ever, Soundwave. Btw, Wonder Man sort of reminds me of Superman.

Yeah it's pretty obvious. Soundwave is one of my all time faves as well. I got his Masterpiece figure with all of his cassettes and the limited edition Coin. I want to get more of them but they're so damn expensive.
He has been compared to Superman a few times but he's a much more flawed hero and individual than Superman. Also he's one of the few characters that started out as a villain and successfully became a hero.

Personally, I bought the KO version of Masterpiece Soundwave because I couldn't afford the official product. In fact, I had to buy a second one in the end because the little Laserbeak figure got accidentally stood on and I couldn't buy him separately.

They started selling the cassettes in their own boxes now as twin packs. So you can get Rumble and Frenzy in one, Laserbeak and Buzzaw in another... I think Ravage was marketed separately now as well.

I think it's amazing. I bought the Anniversary Edition on DVD that was remastered and uncut.
I only wish the live action movies had come close to the animated one and the original cartoon series.

The current Transformers comics have been showing him and Galvatron a lot of love lately. They had their own limited series and Cyclonus had his own Spotlight issue a while back. He was one of my favorite TFs as a kid.

It's really quite good. They've made it so Galvatron and Megatron can exist at the same time and Galvatron and his men are a lot more intense and creepy than they used to be.
I think Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge all had Spotlight issues and then they were all in the mini series Transformers: Heart of Darkness. Now they are making their way into the main Transformers series.

heheh thanks! The scene in the animated movie is pretty freaky when the dead and damaged transformers get remade into new forms and I wanted to capture that.

Cyclonus sort of reminds me of Destro - if occassionally Galvatron/Cobra Commander had listened to them, they might have actually succeeded from time to time. XD
Either way, Cyclonus looks nice and menacing in a cold, efficient way!

Yeah he was like the only really sane one compared to the other maniacs present in Galvatron's army.
That's why Destro left Cobra after a while and started his own group. The guy was just losing way too much money dealing with Cobra Commander.
