Well, you all voted for Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out in my last “Which classic NES game should I draw next poll” and it took me over a year to get it done but goddamn it I did it!

My original concept was just drawing what you see here but with Little Mac’s past opponents dressed in suits or outfits that incorporate the colors of their specific rings, trunks and gloves and once I finished them I planned on adding a generic crowd of people behind them

But then I remembered how on some levels if you paid attention to the crowd the game would put Donkey Kong in among the spectators and I thought, “What if the whole crowd was NES characters like they shared the same universe like in the old Captain N: The Game Master cartoon? That would look pretty fucking cool.”

I channeled one of my artistic heroes, George Perez, and just started adding in characters from games I loved, owned or just played as a kid and kept adding them until I managed to squeeze in 200 characters into the image before I finally stopped.
