Description I did this years ago when Twisted Metal 2 first came out. My nephew loved the vehicle Warthog and I drew this for him on his birthday.

The vehicle is a modified Military Humvee with a three missle rocket launcher mounted on the back as it's Special Weapon as well as two hood mounted machine guns.

The vehicle is piloted by Captain Rogers, A 105-year-old military man who wishes to be young again and hopes to have that wish granted by Calypso for winning the Twisted Metal Contest.

My favorite part of those games is being able to launch your vehicle off ramps and firing like crazy so I chose to show that with this piece.

As far as I know you can't play as Warhawk. I think the only Boss you can play as is Minion.

Did you try the last Twisted Metal that came out for PS3? I really disliked it. I ended up taking it to Game Stop and trading it in.

Yeah if you hack into the game but the removed him from play because they found the vehicle still drove like a car but in the air and that it was too powerful in multiplayer. Anyone with Warhawk destroyed everyone with no problem so they took him out of development. The only thing that survives is the hacked art screens which you can see on the Twisted Metal Wiki page.

that said, SOMEONE will find a way t play as him, they did with inon in TM1(use the gae genia ode to selet minion, then use a code to start at the rooftop, then one to change the final boss to roadkill)

I saw, thanks

I remember with PS1 and 2 they always had the Action Replay or Game Shark cheat devices that allowed the player to use Minion from the first level.

They had the same sort of thing in Resident Evil 2 where it hacked the game so you could play with the submachine gun that was originally left out. They also had a code where you could make it fire rockets but the system couldn't handle it and it would crash

I think if someone hacks around with Black enough they could possibly do it though I don't know how stable the game would be.Β

Yeah he was one of the tougher ones in Twisted Metal 2. I used to like playing as him specifically because of his heavy armor and fast attack ability.

I sort of like the reimagining of Warthog for Twisted Metal Black. I wish someone would do something with the series again and put out another sequel to it and it's counterpart Vigilante 8.

And I also long for a new Vigilante game. Especially, if they would release it on PC as well.

Yeah, I've read some rumors but so far I haven't seen anything concrete regarding a new version or sequel to either game.

I know XBox did a revamp on the graphics of the original game and it's levels for their downloadable content, but it's not really a proper remake.

I know there is a fully customizable game with Go-Karts coming out soon for PS3. It's a bit like Mario Kart and Twisted Metal combined. I can't recall the name though. I only glimpsed it in a magazine when I was waiting for a precription to get refilled.

They said that the secret code in the latest PSP games is translated as "Twisted Metal is coming for PS3".

Just as long as it is not the Twisted Metal Black sequel,I should be happy. It was a good game, but not really worth continuing.

Although, I just don't see where would the story for the vigilante would go on - back to the future, I guess.

And that go-cart game shouldn't be related... unless Small Brawl makes a comeback.

MJMJR In reply to gufu1992 [2009-09-13 09:15:41 +0000 UTC]

I don't have a PSP so I never heard of the code. I didn't even know they made a Twisted Metal for it.

I liked Twisted Metal Black because it truely was a twisted and evil storyline. I think it had real potential, but they really made it much too short and not enough extras.

I think they could do sequels to Black as easy as the first series since the Calypso in Black seemed to have the same mystical ability to search out the insane and grant them wishes for finishing his contest.

But I see your point. The first few in the original series did have a good storyline going for the characters and Calypso himself. It all just seemed to fall apart with 3 in my opinion.

gufu1992 In reply to MJMJR [2009-09-13 17:37:27 +0000 UTC]

3 & 4 should be non-cannon. Even though, the good Calypso is there and fourth not being THAT bad.

Black didn't seem to me as good as first two games and head-on. I don't like the entire "you win, but you go off to kill more people thing" or "I was good guy, ohshi I DIED!".

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to gufu1992 [2009-09-13 19:41:53 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, 4 wasn't that bad but it wasn't that good either. It was just there. I thought it lacked imagination and was more like a cookie cutter sequel.

3 had some cool vehicle designs but it lacked good story elements and I remember the controls being crappy compared to 2.

I think the one thing Black suffered from was in some cases they tried too hard to give everything a black twist, especially the endings. While some were justified, others like the one you mention of the good guy getting killed after he got his memory back was lame.

They seemed to depend too much on the revenge theme rather than granting some bizarre individual wish each character had and throw in an ironic twist rather than a dark, evil one.

Most of the Head-On stories were based on the TW2 ones. Thus, I wonder if the story will move on with the same characters.

Who knows, but I really just hope they do a good job on it. The gaming industry is sorely lacking in Car Battle games. I think if they took the elements of what made TM2 great and applied it to todays game engines it would be an amazing thing to behold.

Personally I would love a huge free roam sort of thing where victories and accomplishments earn the driver access to not only vehicle upgrades but also to more areas that are fully interactive.

I mean how great was it in Twisted Metal when you'd discover something in the enviornment could be blasted apart and at the same time be used to either give you a power up or destroy enemies?

Turning the Effel Tower into a ramp to get power ups was my favorite in TM2 and I loved the Ferris Wheel you could bust loose in Black.

gufu1992 In reply to MJMJR [2009-09-14 22:10:12 +0000 UTC]

Well, a massive game would be good - but again, locked to consoles only (unless someone makes tolerable controls).

That and each TW map MUST have some kind of interactivity or a secret. It is a must.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to gufu1992 [2009-09-15 01:24:26 +0000 UTC]

I think PC and Next Gen consoles like the PS3 could handle it best. I have yet to play a PS3 game where the controls proved to be too difficult to master, especially in a driving game.

I think what would be even cooler is if they make it along the lines of Grand Theft Auto 4 in gameplay.

Not only a huge enviornment where you can roam free and interact with others but also the option to bail out of your damaged vehicle and be able to steal a new one to escape your enemies and perhaps use points or cash you accumulated during gameplay to trick out whatever you stole and make it into a killing machine.

If they can add in that level of customization, unlockable vehicles including bosses plus online play it could be the best one made.

I agree with you totally on the interactivity and hidden secrets on each map. Even Black had some interesting interactive elements on each level, sometimes multiple ones. I think it would be a slap in the face if they didn't make it so you could use your enviornment against enemies, espcially the bosses.

You're asking for too much.

I just want a good TW game with some GOOD music.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to gufu1992 [2009-09-15 09:36:16 +0000 UTC]

I don't think I am.

It would be pretty simple to do Twisted Metal like I suggest since the technology exists already with Grand Theft Auto 4. The game has had several patches and downloads that have added stuff like new vehicles, areas, characters and physics.

The only thing missing is weapons mounted on the vehicles themselves. Though the Homeland Security Helicopters do have four mini guns mounted on them that you can control when you pilot it.

And yes, a good soundtrack is a must. I loved that TM Black had Paint it Black by the Rolling Stones and I believe Twisted Metal 3 had White Zombie - Dragula, but after that it was just generic dramatic music in each level.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

gufu1992 In reply to MJMJR [2009-09-15 19:06:17 +0000 UTC]

Twsited metal 3 music was meh. Only a little better Black and Head-On. 4 had Dragula and A More Violent Solution. 2 had the best of them all. and first game was a classic, music-wise.

Also, it was ROB ZOMBIE! D:

I remember when back in first and second GTA you were able to place guns on your car... well, not that it made it armored like an APC (Most of the cars had almost no resistance to bullets or enough ramming).

I also like the Take A Ride mini games and hidden cars. I wish GTA would adopt the hidden special vehicle thing, I always loved finding those.

Yeah but it would be fun. In GTA4 there are all the Brucie and Steve missions stealing cars that do lead to some neat ones not found in other areas and I managed to complete all of those with some effort.

I think the Airport is the one area with unique vehicles but still not much of a challenge to steal them or find them.

The only thing I had trouble finding was the source of all the armored cars to go on a robbery spree, I eventually found one depot at the end of a bridge leading into "Manhatten" but I think there have to be two more. I always see them in Brucie's neighborhood and the industrial parks near the Strip Club run by bikers.
