Model: JazmineThis is a simple but popular photographer's trick. Set up a big softbox and have the model stand right against the front of it. Meter on the midway-point (in this case you'd want an incident light-meter right on her tailbone) Fire away.

I know you absolutely deplore comments on the models body but i feel strongly compelled to comment on this poor girl. With all ridicule she must endure day and day out. The snickers, sideways glances and looks of pity and scorn. Just how can she let her self go like this it just sad. I mean just look at her she is has just an absolutely perfect body. Has she no shame at making the rest of us feel inadequate. Now I feel the need to hit the gym... THANKS.

My light meter hasn't got a very good life. It spends most of my shoots in my front pocket where it can't see anything...

Simple? I suspect you fiddled with the angle to pick up the highlight both paraspinal prominences. I like it gives depth rather than just being a silhouette.

Simple lighting, but effective. I do like the simplicity of compositions with backlighting: emphasizes simple shapes over texture and shading. Very nice!

You can get the same effect by putting a white sheet over a window that's in full sunlight.
