Rael got into some of my anime-girl costume collection at our last shoot. This is a grab-shot I took of her clowning around.You can see that the lighting here is the same as from some of the other shots I\'ve posted recently from that shoot. This lighting technique, with the \"hot spot\" on the sweep and soft light from the side, does a good job of popping the subject off the background.

This one's a trick setup. All the lighting is from the sides. Flagged-off softboxes on the left and a gridded spot aimed at the background. There's a description of the lighting set up here:

I hope to order a lighting set sometime after I get a new backdrop support system. the last one didn't work quite right, but then again, I made it from PVC pipe. Going to order a real one next time.

I really like the image, but something about her hair feels a little off, maybe you could try sharpening it, or even try blurring it a bit to see if it comes out differently.
