Description
This is the alternate (b/w form) of "Sometimes..." [link]Model is still Zinn.
I like it better, but for a model like Zinn who wants something in her portfolio, a color picture that shows off her flawless skin and tone is probably more useful from a professional standpoint. Artistically, I think black and white just kicks everything in the nuts.
A comment about conversion: this was performed with a channel mixer adjustment layer set to 70% red 30% blue. To slightly flare the blacks (which would look all RONG in the color version) I added a duplicate layer of the background, set it to blending mode "darken" and desaturated it, then applied a slight gaussian blur. The blur layer was set to 10% transparency and I erased it from areas where I wanted her to look crisp. For more details on this simple technique see: [link]

She's got such an open look on her face. How beautiful.

This is breathtaking!!!
Torn between the color and the BW. The color is so luminous - she looks so alive and perfectly poised. Lighting and compo, just exquisite. Balance and the striking pose make this a perfect study...
Perhaps the BW wins somehow. I like the fact that your pieces are like pencil and white chalk drawings on grey paper...
All in all these push the right buttons. Your work generally is just perfect!

This does look better in black and white but the colour version is great too

The dress seems to have an opalescent quility in the B&W version; whereas Zinn completely dominates the color version.

I'd rather not post it; if you email mjr@ranum.com and ask for the small color gloria I'll send it to you.

I generally prefer B&W too, but in this case I think the color is better due to the combination of tones of her skin, teeth, hair and the gown. Obviously, the shapes stand out more in the monochrome, but I really like the colorized version.

Yeah, flicking back and forth between the images, I really like the contrast between her skin and the gown, which isn't as strong in the B&W.

Honestly I think the Black & White version is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, and superior to the color version. Tho as a B&W artist, I might be biased.

I agree that the B&W looks much better than colour - especially with this photo.

She is amazing. Thanks for bringing her to us. B&W or color...both are great.
