Model is NoriThis was shot with 2 large softboxes on either side of Nori, as she hung by her leg against a grey paper sweep. The rope around her ankle was tied to a steel I-beam in the studio ceiling so I was pretty sure she wouldn't fall.
OK, just kidding!! This was shot with 2 large softboxes on either side of Nori, as she lay on a grey paper sweep. The rope around her ankle was tied to a lead weight to hold it straight and I climbed up on a ladder and shot downward at her. Then I rotated the image in photoshop.

Hmm, the only reason I _think_ you may not have hung her from the I-beam (which sounds like a creative idea, incidentally), is the angle of her left leg; I think it would be lower if relaxed, or higher if she was holding it up. Still, from the way her weight rests... are you _sure_ she's not hanging?
Regardless, this is another fascinating composition, and I hope you shot some more like this. Bungie-jumping next?
