Description
Background: A tanghka (traditional Buddhist religious painting with embroidery) depicting an unknown deity from the Lower Sange Monastery in Tibet, circa 1400. The monastery was partially destroyed during an attack by the Red Guard in 1972. The monks and Lamas that survived the attack went into hiding until 1988, taking with them as much of the artwork and relics as they could save.
