Neuschwanstein - THE most visited castle and so the most photographed one I guess.Living near that place forced me to go there at least once.
Pic was made standing on the "Marienbrücke" which was closed actually that time because of dangerous conditions.
What the heck...
Shot during a lucky 2-hour-frame of sunlight. Otherwise it was a full misty day. You may recognize that in the background.

Built 1869 - 1886 by King Ludwig II.

I think it's the castle used in the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Also I think it's the one Disney use at the beginning of their films. It looks beautiful.

Nice to see a winter picture of this castle as opposed to all the cranked up saturation sunny summer day shots
Also, with the fog in the background this picture could just as well have been taken 100 years ago since no modern structures are visible.
