Description
Neuschwanstein - THE most visited castle and so the most photographed one I guess.Living near that place forced me to go there at least once.
Pic was made standing on the "Marienbrücke" which was closed actually that time because of dangerous conditions.
What the heck...
Shot during a lucky 2-hour-frame of sunlight. Otherwise it was a full misty day. You may recognize that in the background.
Location:
Hohenschwangau, near town Füssen,
southern Bavaria, Germany
[link]
Historical:
Built 1869 - 1886 by King Ludwig II.
wasn´t ever finished, second floor is still a shell construction
[link]
If you´ve ever a chance to visit, take the tour. It´s impressive overall

"dangerous conditions." What don't we do for art. hehe.
It's a real good photo.
Marienbrücke is a big stonebridge nearby if I remember right, right?

Walking the forbidden paths for sure
Not that forbidden, because I was not the only one who didn´t care about danger signs
Marienbrücke is actually a steelbridge over the ravine behind the castle, first built from wood in 1845
and later in 1866 Ludwig II. let it build new with steel beams.

Wow! You are lucky one Usually castles quite difficult to shot from such a perfect place. Very often or too close or from too long distance. Here is just perfect picture of impressive castle. Congratulation. And for me composition also very good may be only some more place from the right sight but anyway very nice picture.

Well, it´s easy to get that picture, and there are many better ones I guess
It´s a path behind the castle that leads to a bridge called "Marienbrücke"
Though I was lucky with the weather to get a clear shot.
I made a more wide angle shot as well, but on the right side a distracting
shadowed mountain occured. Had to cut away and center the castle in the middle
Tried a panorama as well, but at that time my tripod broke and no chance to get
appropriate handheld pics

I have possibility to shot many castles in Hungray and Chez Republic and it was quite difficlit to get nice picture because they usually on the hill and view from the foot of hill not so perfect one. So that seems that this castle is a lucky exception. In fact I have only quite good photos of castles only from France (like Shambor castle) the reason is that these castles never were used as a defensive construction. Concernig composition I thought that it may be some reason for that

You got the point. Finding a higher place than the castle itself may be impossible.
Not far away I know a castle, which is the highest point at all. How to shoot entirely
if you don´t own a helicopter?
Haven´t seen Shambor yet... let´s see

He he it is impossible of course. May be using super dumper long focal length canon lens from mountain near castle (but I doubt that even this can help). Shambor is located at the Luara river and it is simply in the ground so there is no problems to shot it. We were here in winter but it is better to visit it in summer or in late spring because it has a very beatiful park and something like pool near castle so it is possible to shot things like reflections e.t.c. Also absolutely impressive monastery for me is Mont Saint Michel (i'll upload some pictures but from Canon 400D later). It is monastery which located on the rock isle and some days high water almost completely covered path to it. Absolutely stunning place.
