Description
Neuschwanstein - THE most visited castle and so the most photographed one I guess.Living near that place forced me to go there at least once.
Pic was made standing on the "Marienbrücke" which was closed actually that time because of dangerous conditions.
What the heck...
Shot during a lucky 2-hour-frame of sunlight. Otherwise it was a full misty day. You may recognize that in the background.
Location:
Hohenschwangau, near town Füssen,
southern Bavaria, Germany
[link]
Historical:
Built 1869 - 1886 by King Ludwig II.
wasn´t ever finished, second floor is still a shell construction
[link]
If you´ve ever a chance to visit, take the tour. It´s impressive overall

Very nice shot!
I dreamt of it for years before visiting it!
It's a pity, that this castle was never finished and that we cannot take pictures of the bedroom...
Thank you for these pictures

Thank you
It was a pity for sure, that I couldn´t take pics inside.
Well, I´ve seen some, but maybe made with smaller
Non-DSLR, which are better to hide
Always welcome, when people like it.

(you're German, aren't you? It's easier for me to speak German, so...)Ich hätte so sehr gemocht, Ludwigs Bett aufzunehmen! Ich bewundere den Bildhauer, der es geschafft hat!
Welches Schloss hat dir am besten gefallen? Hohenschwangau oder Neuschwannstein?
Vielen Dank für den "Fav"

Gern geschehen

^^ Bavaria is partly independent I see
Well, south Germany is so different of the rest of the country

Wow What a Terrific Shot
Looks almost like a Perfect Miniature of the Building
The Mist makes a perfect backdrop with the highest spire resching into the Blue Sky
Lovely

Thank you very much for detailed comment
I thought same about miniature, maybe to call it "bigature" here
Mist worked well as a background, yes

Haven´t found in your gallery, so I cannot comment...
But the most important thing is to be there. No picture can give you that feeling

It's not in my gallery, sorry if I mislead you
That's what I meant though, I've been right there, but because of the weather I couldn't make (such) a great picture >_>
Sometimes it's frustrating that the picture isn't as great as the real thing *sigh*

No sorry for Nice to browse...
Weather is the only enemy here, I know. Was waiting frozen for some time to
get this clear, non-misty shot
I was not in a hurry, but for most people it´s hard to stay because
of hurrying due to "tourism-duties" like leaving bus or whatever
In this case, no photo is able to show the real fascination of this impressive
building I guess...

Well, driving by car
Seriously, you have to go to Hohenschwangau village, parking there, get your entrance ticket if you want to take the castle-tour
and then there´s a street up to the castle itself. I went by foot, but there are horse-drawn carriages (all year) or busses (not in winter) for
all tourist groups.
Alongside the castle a path leads to the "Marienbrücke" which is built over the "Pöllatschlucht" where you have that great sight.
Thanks for fave and watch btw
