Description

Lemusciurus pardus (top):

This species exhibits a slender, elongated body, measuring approximately 50 cm in length excluding its tail which is used for balance in the trees. L. pardus primarily inhabits the upper canopy layers of rainforests, where it capitalizes on abundant food sources provided by the fruit trees and the insects that live on them.

Subfoliis albacalvum (mid):

Subfoliis albacalvum is predominantly found in the dense undergrowth of rainforests and woodlands. These environments provide ample cover and resources for the species. While primarily terrestrial, they are also great climbers, using trees to escape predators and access food sources. The diet of Subfoliis albacalvum is diverse, consisting of fruits, insects, seeds, and notably, snails, which became an abundant food source in the wetter regions of Lithos.

Melisciurus nigrens (bottom):

The species is characterized by its large size, averaging 65 cm in length (excluding the tail) and it’s noxious smell. A defensive adaptation of M. nigrens, the production of a foul-tasting and smelling substance when threatened by predators. Additionally, M. nigrens is known for its digging abilities, using its sharp claws to excavate burrows for shelter and nesting purposes.
