Description
The mountain canimur is the descendant of the lowland canimur, whose populations spread into the highlands and over 10 million years they adapted to the steep hillsides and rock faces. They became a bit larger, about 110 cm tall. Their fur got more dense to accomodate the colder temperatures. The pads on their paws got much more rough so the rocks don't damage them. They are solitary predators but they do tolerate each others presence. Hunting in the mountains poses some challenges for them. Rather than pursuiting their prey, they ambush them. Their main prey is the Highland Kitrony, but they do eat anything they can catch. If there is an opportunity they even scavenge from carrion.
