Description
We have arrived on the northern continent, Gidronia. This whole continent is dominated by bamboo forests and wetlands. Everywhere in these forests, burrows can be found. They were made by the Wormlers, a small burrowing lemur species. They are expert diggers, as they have very strong front limbs and wide hands with large claws. Their diet consists mainly of worms and other subterranean critters. Being nocturnal, they only come out of their burrows at night, when they forage for other food sources like moths and even slugs. Sometimes a female broadcasts a call in the night. This attracts many males from her area who come to her to mate. But wormlers hardly tolerate each other. As the males meet around the females' den, they often fight for the right to mate. These fights often result in serious injuries. The winner is often the larger and stronger competitor who blocks the entrance to the den until dawn, when the others are forced to hide somewhere else.
Newborn wormlers stay in the den for only 3-4 weeks, and then they wander off into the forest, in search of suitable burrowing space.
