Description
This is a fully transformable VTOL cargo aircraft designed to emulate the livery of official LEGO City cargo sets. The aircraft mode features retractable landing gear, an adjustable, collapseable cargo floor, a winch, a hinged cockpit, and rotating engine nacelles. Transformation is 'perfect', i.e., all inclusive requiring no part removals/reattachments.Related content

Then, what sets did you use?

I didn't use any particular sets, and many of the parts I already had in my collection or I bought from Bricklink. While I fleshed out some ideas with LDD, there's no complete digital model from which to make instructions. The majority of the model was built on-the-fly, requiring adjustments, reinforcements, and other such tweaks and mods, which I made along the way. I built it in 2017, but I had to rush its completion due to my taking it to BrickCon. This summer, I completely rebuilt the backpack sections, added retractable landing gear, and made a few other tweaks here and there. I have no instructions for it myself, so if it ever takes a catastrophic tumble and shatters, I have no way of reconstructing it. So again, I apologize for not having instructions, but I certainly appreciate your interest. Cheers!

Amendment to my reply: I thought you were commenting on my Konig Monster, so I responded accordingly. My apologies. I appreciate your interest in my VV-1, but like everything I build, there are no instructions. I use LDD to try out ideas, but the vast majority of all my stuff is built on-the-fly. As for sets, I used a number of parts and stickers from the Cargo Heliplane set, #60021, which came out in 2013, and the rest came out of my collection or were purchased via Bricklink. IIRC, I built the VV-1 in 2014.

I tried to keep it within the realm of believability, impart all the functionality of a real cargo plane (I used to work on them, so that helped), all while making it transform and doing my best to hide the fact that it does so. I like how it turned out, but it's always nice to hear from someone else, so I greatly appreciate your looking and commenting.

That's the cool thing about a forum like this; folks can see possibilities that may not have occurred to the artist. I never saw this as more than a near-future civilian aircraft, designed as a transformable 'helper' to his human crew. Baymax from Big Hero 6 had a lot of influence in the rounded shaping of his robot form (and in my mind, personality), and it never entered my mind that he would have weapons or military affiliation. Honestly, I don't know if I ever thought of his being a space-faring craft, but, why not? I'd have to design a special passenger pod to fit in his cargo bay, especially for space ops, but then that's the beauty of LEGO- infinitely mod-able.
