Description
Kid Cosmic is Craig McCracken's latest and greatest work. Of course the show has his trademark charm, humor, and heart that are prevalent in all of his shows, but since this show is allowed to be serialized he uses this to the best of his ability. The characters develop, the story progresses, and the world changes. Things are happening so frequently that this show doesn't have a status quo at all which I think is great. It gives this show a very unique feeling in comparison to most other cartoons. Despite the cartoony art style the show is actually quite grounded and realistic (aside from the absurd situations of course). These characters feel real and have depth to them. This is the case for all of the main characters, but even the side characters are all given just enough for them to be distinct and memorable as well. The show also has a couple of surprising twists that I won't spoil here, but I will say that I was genuinely surprised by the direction that this show decided to go in on multiple instances. I need to process this a bit more because this show is so new, but it might just become my favorite of Craig McCracken's shows.
