I know the feeling, my friend. Ruby Rose is one of my favorite female characters. One of the reasons is she actually falls into a form of writing few seem to know and/or understand. The "Neutral Character Arc" is what it's called and is one of the three main ways of writing a character in any form of story telling.

He has repeatedly proven he's a close-minded hater looking for any excuse to hate on something in the most misconstruted way possible instead of making any valid context with his comments. None of his words can be taken seriously. Fortunately for every hater like him, there is a good natured, open minded true fan like you and me.

I'm not the type of person looking for any excuse to hate on something I do tend to go over board in stating my opinions but being a close minded hater is Something I would never doΒ if I don't a show that everyone else likes that's fine everyone else is entitled to their own opinion.
If you like Ruby that's fine, if you like the show that's fine. I don't like Ruby Rose as a character and RWBY the show is ok I just don't think it has a good story.

No offence dud but Ruby is by far the most boring character/protagonist in the show 6 seasons in and she still hasn't changed or developed as a character, her voice keeps getting more and more annoying, and she has no negative traits that the show will admit or give consequence too. The show beats you over the head that "Ruby is right" even when Ruby is wrong. ESPECIALLY when Ruby is wrong. Besides her on again off again bouts with Roman, Ruby has zero resonance with antagonistic characters, never comes into conflict with her own party members and has zero consequences for making bad decisions.

Ruby is how you do a protagonist right. I've recently made a post about "Character Arcs" and Ruby follows one of them: The Neutral Character Arc. At least that's what I call it. She's a perfect example of that type of Arc and that's why she's much better written than some believe or may not realize. It's one of the reasons I enjoy her so much. ^_^

Where she got the exact same amount of development until the very end where they needed to pull a plot-point out of nowhere to make her relevant.
Character Development is how much the character changes.
