Description
Okay, so I know that in my poll I said I would upload a tutorial for attaching manes and tails... And I still will! But I just thought that this would be a better tutorial to upload first, because you need to know how to do this in order to attach manes and tails.
Edit: An extension/part 2 of this tutorial can be found here, for attaching manes and tails to plushies using the ladder stitch: [link]
So.
So I hope this tutorial is helpful to you! And please keep an eye out for the second part of this mane & tail series, where I'll be teaching you how to attach manes and tails to the plushie (using the ladder stitch.)
Thanks for looking!

WARNING! Carry on reading! Or you will die, even if you only looked at the word warning!
Once there was a little girl called Clarissa, she was ten-years-old and she lived in a mental
hospital, because she killed her mom and her dad. She got so bad she went to kill all the
staff in the hospital so the More-government decided that best idea was to get rid of her so
they set up a special room to kill her, as humane as possible but it went wrong the
machine they were using went wrong. And she sat there in agony for hours until she died.
Now every week on the day of her death she returns to the person that reads this letter, on
a Monday night at 12:00 a.m. She creeps into your room and kills you slowly, by cutting you
and watching you bleed to death. Now send this to ten other pictures on this one site, and
she will haunt someone else who doesn't. This isn't fake. apparently, if you copy and paste
this to ten comments in the next ten minutes you will have the best day of your life tomorrow. You
will either get kissed or asked out, if you break this chain u will see a little dead girl in your room

I swear I am the slowest learner of anything ever. I can look at videos and read instructions and still not get something. But reading this and seeing picture by picture helped so much! You are such a gifted artisan and know exactly how to explain what has been a rather hard stitch for me to grasp, being new to sewing as a whole and wanting to try my hand at plushies. Something about the way you worded everything just so (along with a video to follow along XD) allowed me to understand it where I'd felt so lost elsewhere. I cannot express how much I appreciate this post!
Thank you so much for sharing your expertise with everyone! I know I will come back to this and part 2 often to keep things fresh and look forward to reading all of your tutorials and learning more from such an amazing artist! Thank you!!!

Both parts of this tutorial are extremely helpful--thank you so much for sharing! If I might ask, what kind of stitch did you use for the detailing on Pinkie's mane and tail? I'm having a hard time finding a stitch that looks good.

Aw, thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful!
And I used a split stitch for the detailing on Pinkie's hair Here's a link to show you how to do the split stitch: [link]
Good luck!

Ah, so it's done by hand--that's probably why it looks so good. Hmm, I've already got my pattern pieces cut out and all; I guess I'll resort to some machine stitch this time around, but I'll be sure to give this a try on my next pony. Thanks for the help!
I'm working on my first pony, by the way, so I'm literally learning everything as I go.

Yep, all the details are sewn by hand. Although it takes so much longer that way, haha!
Anyway, good luck on your pony!
