I'm sure you could commission a Sunset Shimmer beanie whenever her commissions are open, but you could also make one yourself with her pattern. I bought it, and I haven't had much time to work on it, but it looks like a great pattern. Also, I'm not allowed to sell plushes made with her pattern, however, I can do non profit things like giveaways and trades, so I will do promotional giveaways after I finish everything that I need to work on. I'm probably going to start with Princess Twilight Sparkle, but anyone can send a request for a giveaway, and they will all be made with this pattern. We could also do an art trade, like maybe, your adorable cat for a couple plushes. LOL, I'm just kidding, but I do want a cat like yours. XD Have a lovely day

It's okay. I bought the pattern, and in a few months I'm going to do a promotional giveaway for a plush made from the pattern, and I'm always open for art trades unless I have a school project to work on. Have a nice day.

You can always learn! It's never too late. It's not that hard either once you know all the tricks. I plan to make a 'beginners guide to plush making' sometime soonish.

I've tried learning to use a machine for years - i kill them (burn out the motor! not just snapping needles!)
I even tried joining a local community group to learn hand sewing, and was politely told by the group leader that i wasnt keeping up with the group and that for their sake i should give up because i was slowing everyone down and lessons weren't being completed I SUCK at sewing.
The only thing i can do is mend holes in socks, and even that i am not good at (they aren't very comfortable)

Oh my o.o What were the lessons like? Was it like sewing techniques for making clothes and stuff? You could always do hand sewing for a simple little plushie. You just need a machine that can sew really slowly, I know I had a lot of trouble with my cheap first machine because the sewing pedal was either not going at all or like full speed ahead. Made sewing those hooves a nightmare for me.

started out with the basics, like how to make sure your thread would double or triple knot in the right place (without knotting the wrong place and then messing up your thread) to trying to teach us different kind of stitches, how far apart they should be, whether or not to double back or to pass the needle under a previous thread before pulling to give tension etc. The leader would go around and help people, but she didn't like repeating herself... so when she got to me who had SERIOUS difficulty with even getting the basics right, she would always huff and puff and then take over so that i could 'catch up' to the rest of the group... but of course that taught me nothing so when she handed the material back to me, i always got left behind again.

She also REALLY hated that i couldn't read patterns very well... or do the math to make them bigger or smaller to make them fitted (she was trying to teach us clothes, like pants, and t-shirts to start with) i gave up after about a month of her passive aggressive crap.

Honestly that class sounds really hard! You shouldn't be too discouraged, sounds like it was really technical class. Making a plushie is actually easier than clothing. As long as you know how to thread a machine, backstitch a couple times, and adjust tensions, you are good to go, really. You need to use a lot of pins to sew with minky but otherwise its very easy to work with as it doesn't fray.

Anyways all I'm saying is don't give up an sewing entirely! It sounds like even I would have trouble with that class. XD

I can't even get my machine to obey me sewing basic stitches.
I downloaded a few basic stitch patterns, you print them out, put the paper on top of the fabric and follow the instructions.
When i want to go stay straight it curves off, when i WANT to do a curvy pattern, it gives me sharp turns.
When i want a small stitch i get a large one.

Nothing i do is right!
Seriously i can't even get the basics right. Not even back-stitching (-_-) my mother wanted me to learn to sew for years and even SHE said the machine she bought me was a waste of money. She's so glad she didn't get the overlocker she had been planning on!

I'm just a real screw-up when it comes to doing things manually like this

Well I don't actually make plushies for commission with this exact pattern, I have a more detailed one that I use of the same size. But those are ~$200+

Well I specifically made this pattern a little simpler so beginners can use it, and also so my commissions are still unique.

Me too! After the 2nd movie I really loved her. I really gotta make a full size plush of her soon. XD

I'm interested to see what they do with her monster form. My theory is that it wasn't a demon but rather a mutation of staying in Canterlot High for too long...and when exposed to Equestrian Magic it warped her.

I'm pretty sure the comics will touch on it more than the series, or maybe the next movie.
