OK, I promised to one deviant once, that I'll write this tutorial, so here it is.I don't know why, but it came out very detailed... 21 (A4) pages, over 50 screenshots and pictures. I hope it's good guidance for people making first steps in 3D, particularly in 3Dsmax 4.x
Btw, this tutorial should work with 3Dsmax 3.x versions aswell, though some menus may be positioned differently compared to screenshots.

PS tutorial comes with MS Word (2000) .doc file and Acrobat .pdf file + 3dmsax scene files.
Let me know if you have any trouble opening those files.

I am still working on this one (almost there) but i felt the obligation to go on-line and post a comment. Thanx marti. This is great job. The outcome of this tutorial is great. Everyone should give it a try (maybe it's not suitable for complete newbiez though).

very nice, i'm making a car, this will save me alot of time of trying to figure it out...
but yeah for dial up people this takes a while
i'm not a newbie at 3ds but lets see if this can help me learn some new modeling shit.
