Description
Well, what can I say... it's just a shuriken model...Not a copy of any existing shuriken type/model, sort of my own desing.
Looks kinda too old though...
...
Modeled in 3dsmax4, rendered with V-Ray.

Haha, I worked at Turbo Squid this past summer, so I had the behind-the-scenes inside scoop on everything there. And while searching through models during one of my lunch breaks one day, I played my little game that I did sometimes. Type in a random object and search for the single best model that I could find. This day I searched for 'Robot' and stumbled upon your T-800. Holy crap, man. From there I checked out all your other stuff. You're amazing.
Due to the fact that I worked there, I am now a Trusted Rater, so I rated most of your stuff with 5 stars. Your work blows my mind. Extreme photorealism. Keep it up.
(It's weird seeing this in such a large scale as I'm used to seeing it in the little 400x400 thumb. This scale does it justice.)

Hey, thanks.. Maybe it's because I first model for fun, then later thinking, that someone might want to buy the models, so I put them on TS.
I've searched for models there myself, just for fun and I think most of the artists there model specifically for sale, thus the models are not so good, done too fast. But it's just my opinion.

Yes, that 400x400 size format kinda sucks. Potential buyer don't see any details with such an image size. Luckily they have downloadable previews option there too.

Ah, so the HDRI image has enough dynamic range to be an environment texture and also a plausible light source? These images are amazingly photorealistic.

Yes, in most instances HDRI is suffice enough, although if you use it as light source, you must increase the GI intensity well above 1.0...

Outstanding! Ive only got a trial of 3dsmax5 can I use v-ray? wat is it? is that how you get such vibrant lifelike rendering and lighting?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
mmarti In reply to SirCula [2004-08-18 07:39:49 +0000 UTC]
V-Ray should be available as a demo version too... Yes, with v-ray you should get similar results, but in addition you need a good hdri image as well..

SirCula In reply to mmarti [2004-08-18 07:45:08 +0000 UTC]
whats an hdri image? sorry for so many questions but Ive made a few models myself and they never look half as real as your stuff
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
mmarti In reply to SirCula [2004-08-18 08:04:43 +0000 UTC]
HDRI stands for High Dynamic Range Image... just download V-ray here [link] then donwload hdri image you like here [link] (make sure you download 'filename'.zip file not a .jpg... Then set it as background using v-ray hdri material... and render, lets say a reflective sphere, and see the difference...
