Description
I pushed my (h/l) (h/c) hair out of my (pale/tan/dark) face. I squinted my eyes so that I could just barely make out an image within the snow. There he was, his medium-length dark hair blowing forward due to the wind hitting both of us roughly in our backs, flushing our each of our locks in front of each of our faces. I adjusted my (f/c) baseball cap so that it shaded over my (e/c) eyes and I silently swallowed my breath. There, standing only footsteps in front of me, was Red. Red the Pokemon champion.. not that I honestly cared about useless titles.. but there was something about the thought of him being the champion that made me nervous. Why did it make me nervous you ask? Well.. I was about to battle him. I knew I had to, despite how tempting it was to get up leave without any second thought... I had to. I was going to fail miserably, I just knew I was. Still, even if I did... it's not that I really minded my losing. My only hope was not that I succeeded, but simply that my Pokemon make it out alright. Just the thought of losing them just... I just.. wait-no. No, I won't think that way! Not now.. my Pokemon were the only thing I had anymore. I needed them... right now, especially. They won't leave me.. they can't! I tossed my head to my right and faced the ground so that my hair covered my face as I carefully wiped a single tear from underneath my eye. I could almost break down just thinking about it, but I tossed it aside and inhaled a deep breath, attempting to calm myself down from my negativity. I closed my eyes tightly as I exhaled, then blinking quickly a few times before looking back up. I stayed frozen or a few seconds before hearing a light whimper. I turned around slowly to be to face-to-face with my Charizard and smiled gently. People made Charizard's out to be assholes, but mine.. he was the sweetest piece of shit I'd ever seen. I rested my head on his and smiled lightly as he closed his eyes and grinned gently in response.

"I love you, boy.." I said to him softly. He responded with a small grunt, and even though it was a grunt, it still managed to sound gentle and sincere. Almost as if to say 'I love you, too.'

I giggled lightly and kissed his nose, then I carefully turned back around on my heels, seeing Red's back still turned to me. "Come.." I whispered to Charizard, letting my head hang softly while I spoke, but lifting it back up again as I began slowly walking over to Red.

Once I got closer, however, I noticed something different. He was actually standing there mumbling something.. but.. but I thought Red didn't talk? That's what I heard before I went to battle him, at least. He was talking softly to his Pikachu that sat on his shoulder. The minute I heard words escape his lips, I froze in my place, my eyes widening, almost as though he would turn around and murder me.

"Pika.." Red whispered in a deep voice that... almost soothed me. "I just don't know what to do. It's got to have been at least 6 years now and I just.."

It was dead silent for a moment. Everything seemed to fall silently along with the snow. After standing there for a matter of seconds, Red suddenly fell onto his knees into the snow, Pikachu jumping off of Red's shoulder at the same exact time. Red moved his legs close to his chest and buried his face into his knees. Pikachu's ears flopped down sadly as Pika gently pulled on Red's pant leg.

"Pika..?" Pikachu muttered softly, his voice showing obvious concern for his trainer. Then, I heard a muffled sound... was Red... crying? My breath stuck to the inside of my throat in a silent gasp. I suddenly felt strangely depressed watching this... and I didn't even know why. I felt like everything became sad along with Red and his concerned Pokemon.

Then, after long, depressing moments of silence, his voice cracked. His voice sounded like the tears were sticking the to inside of his throat, muffling his words even more than before. "I miss my family, Pika.." He muttered with sadness overfilling his voice, still hiding his head in his knees.

"Pika Pi.." Pikachu whimpered softly, climbing onto Red's lap and nuzzling his soft face into Red's neck. Although I didn't really notice it, Red smiled lightly, buried his head into his Pikachu, and wiped his tears away.

"You guys are all I have now.." he whispered into his Pokemon, wrapping his arms around Pika gently. I stood there, completely and utterly frozen. Wow.. he felt that way too? I wasn't the only one.. who thought their Pokemon were their everything. Maybe I.. maybe I'm not crazy.

I took one gentle step forward to approach him, when suddenly, I stepped on a stick. 'Shit!' I muttered under my breath through my closed teeth while my head jolted down, staring at the broken twig under my foot. My hair hung in my face as my teeth stayed clutched together... he was staring at me... I knew he was. Dammit!

I slowly looked back up, to meet a pair of widened, deep red eyes staring right at me as I suddenly looked back down at ground and scratched the back of my head awkwardly. 'Shiiittt..' I thought silently, my teeth clinched together, shaking from both the extreme cold, and my extreme awkwardness. 'Shit shit shit shit shit..'
