*Riina 's daughter, Elli, having a bath in the kitchen sink.Just a snapshot really, but I like the light and she is obviously the cutest kid in the world.

Ok I'm not gonna say anything as it would just go horribly horribly wrong (again).
I'll just go .

Soft and sweet and gorgeous. Even though the colours seem to be predominately blue-ish, it's still screams *girly* to me, with all that gorgeous blonde hair. Really love the shallow DOF too!

Others already complimented on the light, and the look on her face is cute 8)
Just a little bit more light on her face would have made this an even better picture - now she's a bit in the shadows. No matter, though - the situation probably would have been completely different if you'd started to fuss around with lights and reflectors

Yes the light was a bit tricky as it came from behind. And being a visitor there I didn't exactly have any equipment at hand either.

the light is fabulous!
i love that soft blue
the diffuse glow of sun
the halo on her head
and her sharpened face features.
is there any soft-focus vignetting here?
post-production wise . . .
or is that just a result of the DOF?

Yes I softened it a bit around the edges. I think soft suits cute babies.

it sure does!
and i am by no means
criticizing soft, cute babies.
i just find myself looking closer
to see what makes an image lovely
and appealing and how that is achieved

I've got this old-school circular softening filter, which softens towards the edges and I used to love using that when I shot portraits on film. So I guess this is the digital way of achieving that look.

Adorable! The light is gorgeous!
How do you keep your colours so 'punchy'???
obviously
Cheers,
Roob.

And I thought the colours were quite subtle in this. I shot this in .jpg, which I very rarely do, and had the camera set to the vivid end of colour. Usually I shoot in raw and adjust the white balance/curve a bit in raw software.

I use the Canon 10D and to shot in RAW rather than .jpg. Have never really messed with the colour settings......................maybe it's time to try?
The blues are incredible in this particular pic. Don't want this to sound like some sort of appreciation society, but your photography is some of the most unique I've seen! Both conceptually and technically.
Looking forward to more!
Thanks for the info, most appreciated.
Kindest regards,
Roob.

I think the colour settings only effect the jpg's hence I tend to compensate for raw a bit afterwards. I think I have wonky eyes as no amount of colour is ever enough for me.
Appreciation society. I wouldn't mind having one with an honorary member like you.
Thank you for your lovely words.
Was feeling down and you've really brightened up my morning.

Just one of those when it rains it pours kinda days. In the great scheme of things it's prolly not that bad though.
