Description
Category: PhotographyAfter a lot of umming and ahhing I decided to submit this after all - despite its shortcomings.
I can't pinpoint one work of art, one moment in time, or one photographer as my ultimate inspiration. For me, inspiration comes in a lot of shapes and forms. Moments, colours, little things... music, movies, pictures... every small thing around me inspires me. And my two muses (well a girl can't have just one

Such composition is really cute. But there's one strange thing here, is the skin of the girls, did you work on it on Photoshop?

There's a bit of noise reduction on the whole picture, because it was so dark I had to use ISO800. And I evened out the skintone of the girl on the left a tiny bit, as it looked a bit blotchy, because of the lighting. But it doesn't look majorly different to the original.

You have two of my favorite movies there, and some books that I've read!!! well, at least looked at the pretty pictures. To me this photo also conveys a sort of approach to the fact the media tells us what's beautiful, and what we have to do to make ourselves wanted. Shave this, mask this with a scent, cover up your face here, roll your hair this way. A constant whisper that the natural you isn't good enough.
Great work!

Lovely bold colors! I like it a lot. Nice selection of books and movies. It all adds to the ordered chaos. Lovely piece!

And I thought the colours were quite subdued.
Thanks so much.

Oooo--even though it's almost a collage of images, it's still beautiful. Such a great blend of colors and images, and good lighting, too.

omg I've flipped through that "Faces" book so many times! The one by NARS!
I absolutely love this piece.
Again, your play with colour is just astounding.
Love how the blues work so well, rounding everything
Seriously, seriously digging how the blue from the "Portraits" book, the blue from the vase and the blue from the cushion, all come together and compliment so very nicely.
There's a very nice commercial look about this as well. Just the fact that the setting is scattered with commercial-like objects, the models' makeup and expression, the angle from which the picture was taken... they make this piece ooze with professionalism.
I sort of had an idea like this as well, but not so "casual".
Gorgeous work indeed.

Aww thank you. Don't know about professionalism, there was so much lacking when taking it, but I tried my best with what I had. I would have loved it to look like from a magazine as that's where I get a lot of inspiration from, but you really need studio flashes to achieve that look.

Wonderful! It's a rally cool shot. And the shiny satinsheat (or whatever it is..) gives it really an extra "kick"...

I'm actually resting my laptop on that photobook right now, I think this is a strong contender for inspirations you have a wide range of sources spread throughout the image and yet they are all tied with a thematic thread.

Thank you.
I had a good idea imo, but the lack of proper lighting meant I didn't get the result I wanted. Ho hum. Not much I could do about it.
