Description
The Qasif Refugee Camp was established in early 2112 after militant fighters from the Haan political faction of Haanar, driven into the mountains stradling the border between the Sultanate and neighbourhing Peshara, launched repeated attacks on the towns and villages of the Nemaz Valley. While Pesharan military forces battled with the Haan, civilians from the valley fled through the narrow passes into the Qasif Desert in Haanar, a wide and barren plain chosen by the INF as the site for a camp that would eventually hold 65,000 people.

With dwindling numbers, the Haan were forced back into the peaks. Desperate, they launched a final offensive in the early hours of August 8th, 2112. A force of 115 Haan militants armed with automatic weapons, anti-tank rockets and armoured vehicles attacked the Qasif Refugee Camp, intending the breach the perimeter fencing and slaughter the civilians inside. The assaulted sector was at the time under the protection of Escean INF-banner units, which included several towers manned by sniper teams and Wolverine UGVs.

One of these teams included Army Scout Sniper Zali cor Nas'Alno, who initially detected the dust plumed kicked up by the Haan vehicles. With her spotter Mike Edwards, Zali deployed a VAMPIRE drone to first investigate and then designate targets for the camp's Wolverine vehicles. Despite inflicting losses, the attackers succeeded in reaching the fence and pinned the two sniper teams on overwatch at the time.

While intending the relocate, the second sniper team was killed by an AT rocket fired into their position. The attack was then repeated against Zali and Edwards, with the spotter pushing his colleague out of the tower moments before it was hit. Despite numerous injuries from the fall and explosion, Zali managed to continue fighting, pinning the attacking militants within a security zone outside the camp proper. When the QRF eventually reached the area, Nas'Alno was discovered clutching only her pistol, having exhausted all of her rifle ammunition, and was in danger of being overrun.

After action reports and investigations discovered the Seqari had managed to kill 43 of the 79 enemy combatants who survived the Wolverine bombardment. Post-mortem examinations determined every militant killed by the 19-year old died from a single shot to the head, with 40 attributed to the 6.5mm ammunition of Zali's K-14 DMR, and 3 to the 4mm ammunition of her K-4R. For her rifle, Zali had made a kill with every round she had, despite constant relocation and incoming fire. Her actions during the assault, which minimalised allied casualties and prevented any civilian losses, led to multiple commendations and an eventual invitiation to the 23rd Guard's Battalion.
