I like this a lot.
You have marked Apophysis jk... do you use the version for Mac, Apophysis j ?

I should say apo 2.09 jk which is only for windows I think you may be referring to wildfire which I have still yet to try and is a java based program.
Curious what you are finding to be it's main limitations for you?

I didn't know of Apophysis 2.09 jk.
I have tried Wildfire. I didn't get on very well with it.
I use a Mac. So I need a virtual machine to run Windows and normal Apo. I have Parallels and Windows XP.
It's rather a bother to open up but it works correctly. I have also used FE like that.
Apart from that my main complaint about Apo is that the renders are too long. I'm not very patient I'm afraid and don't like leaving the computer open all night as some people do. I could make Windows close at the end of the render but the Mac would still be open.
In any case when Parallels is running it tends to slow down other things I want to do.
I've tried Chaotica but UF renders are really much faster.
I used Apo, badly, for several years but I can't make complex fractals with it. I just don't know how. If it was faster I think I'd try to learn.
I prefer programmes that run on Mac itself, as does UF for Mac which I bought.
Apophysis J (for Mac) is not very good. It doesn't make big enough images and has only a limited performance.
I've tried Oxidizer (Mac) but it's difficult and tends to freeze. Fragmentarium does the same.
Mandelbulb 3D is great but again rather slow for me and too complicated to use. I see that the latest version is faster.
From time to time I look around to see if anything new has come up concerning Apo.
Well, I can't have it all!

I just upped the size in apophysis to 2400 pixels wide and set the quality at 40,000
In the past I didn't have the patience to wait for this quality render but with my new computer it made it a bit more tolerable. I promise you LYC I will try out chaotica before the first day of summer when I should have a bit more spare time to venture into using your program. I always am amazed at the quality of render people get using it!!!!!!

I expect you are right.
I'm still looking for ways of running an Apophysis programme on the Mac.
Apo J works a bit... but only renders poor quality, small flames.
I have no idea how to use the "command line" to set a bigger sized image.
Never mind.
