Unintentionally, many of his mannerisms are adorable. He will nuzzle as close to his mother as possible when napping; he cocks his head and raises his ears in curiosity when being told stories; and his blindness causes him to be sweetly clumsy.

He doesn’t let his blindness hold him back. He’s willing to try anything his siblings are up to, with little concern or regard for his lack of sight. A combination of hopeful affection for the rival clan’s deputy with a genuine desire to help, Autumnwhisper made the difficult decision to leave ShadowClan behind.

    Despite her previous clan’s belief that she had betrayed them, the new medicine cat sorely missed the friends and family she had left. In secret, she would often return to ShadowClan territory to visit Batshade. When the Scale Plague ravaged the forest and Autumnwhisper was chosen to be a prophet of StarClan, her visits to her friend became even more frequent. Soon, the support and secrets she shared with her fellow medicine cat blossomed into romance. ShadowClan’s scorn for her couldn’t keep the two apart. In fear for her safety, Batshade attempted to break her heart and ensure she would never again venture into the dangerous territory, but their affection for one another proved too strong, and the two resigned to their feelings of love.



    In the aftermath of a devastating raid on ThunderClan, Batshade ventured toward his love’s territory as soon as he could. Autumnwhisper had gained wounds from the battle, but despite this she made the happy if not risky proposal to become the tom’s mate.                 Bluekit never knew what it was to look at the world—he never knew the color of his mother’s pelt, nor the patchy streams of sunlight coming through the nursery roof. Having being born blind, he never knew what the sensation of sight was, and therefore didn’t have any particular desire to see. His other senses were always enough for him. He came to know his mother’s scent and voice, as well as the individual cries of his siblings. His desire to listen made him quiet—it was almost as if he was little more than an observer in his own life, distinguishing various sensations without ever connecting with any of them.



                His love for his mother was always fierce.
