I was doing some half hearted sketching practice but still liked the picture for all its horrifying foibles. Those hands. It hurts to look at them. Her hair is shorter and frames her face closer/better, etc etc.

I mean, it is a picture of my OC flapper girl so it is more the topic than the pic I am enamored with. As I have been spending more time with her she is telling me stories of who she is and how she lives. I don't think I would have made it back then but she does.

Anyway I wanted to mess with it to see if I could make it *cough* better. Ok, not really "BETTER" since it was already a half hearted mess but "better" in this case was half hearted working with it in Procreate. For fun. Because as I have heard [from Karen Campbell I think], "You don't get worse with more practice. That's not a thing!" In fairness the plain old pencil sketch may look better than the procreate version but I do like them both. The original is genuine for sure but the digital has 'pop', color, and vibrance that plain graphite doesn't.

So here it is. Cut the main part of the pic, touched in color, smudged in some texture, added nice lettering, a background for contrast, and voila! Or something like that. She totally looks much finer IRL. Like a real person and fun! I'm sure you will see her again as you have many others of my menagerie. <3
