Description This has been a debate I've been following for some time now. After the shooting in Orlando (May you be welcomed into the Elysium Fields, my friends) there was a call for allowing homosexual men to give blood. Of course, like anything else dealing with LGBT, this sparked outrage from the ones against the LGBT.

I don't understand what the big damn deal is about not allowing homosexual men to give blood. Is it because they have sex with other men? Heterosexual men and women can give blood and they have anal sex as well. They are just as likely to get AIDs as the rest of us. So what the hell makes them so special?

Stamp by me.

P.S. I know the shooting happened in June, but this is a subject that is still being debated.

They are, but they must not have any sexual intercourse with another man for a year. Heterosexuals and homosexuals can contract and transmit the same diseases, such as HIV, but heterosexuals do not have to be celibate for an entire year before they can give blood.

This has been an issue in the United States for some time now. Many of the LGBT+ community believe this rule is homophobic and unfounded. I am in agreement with this.

I agree~

Not all lgbt people have aids/hiv or other diseases. People need to stfu.

And if they don't want an accidental hiv infection all they have to do is have the donor bring proof they have been tested for it and are clean.

Sorry for the late response. I do agree that not all of us have those diseases, but no one will listen unless we take a stand and let our voices be heard. There are so many people who have blood and body problemsΒ that can give blood, yet we are the odd man out.

The proof from a clean bill of health is a great idea, actually. I had not thought of that before.

The only things that should prevent people from giving blood are blood diseases and if there is no way you can tolerate needles, other than that no other reasons.

(I can't have a needles in too long and if my body goes nope not today they can't find veins.) So, yeah next best thing is to donate money, which I plan to do when I can afford it.

Haven't been able to get Core for that reason as well. (Not asking for free Core at all, just saying that is why I have never had it.)

Hope you don't mind late comments, some people think if you reply to old comments you are a Troll, don't even have to be rude or the one to start fights either.Β

I agree.

I don't mind late comments.
I've dealt with a few trolls, and you don't seem like one. So it's all good. :]
