I'm so glad to see some actually ORIGINAL design of a more or less fantasy warrior. After all those epic and fully armored knights, this old, not perfect man is just awesome. Reminds me a bit of Nausicaa's folk from Ghibli movie.
There's not much to say about technique, it's just great. Those color match each other perfectly and it's a great experience to just look at this art. But the fact that it's just art of a warrior and there's not much of scenery or any kind of story is a little bit disappointing. Still, it's a great art and I'm really glad I could write a critique of it. :3

Thanks for the critique. And I definitely should have added some elements of his environment surrounding him, and give it minimal details and indication. And yes, the moustache old man has been inspired by Lord Yupa. Cheers!

I knew Lord Yupa was the inspiration! I just knew it! >w<
Again, great job!

Thanks! Didn't wanna go overboard with the design. But happy with the result.

Movies should have powerful old / ancient characters more often. Just wanted to show that they're cool.

Love the plate armor, looks really practical as well, you probably expect someone to tell you that this resembles elven armor from various movies or games, so I'll be the first to say it. I'm not very skilled in my drawings but I'd appreciate if you just looked.Β

Thanks a lot. You're correct, I try to design my armour with some practicality in it, so to make the viewer believe that they can actually move. And sure, I'll have a look. But what do you want me to look at?

I wish I did have some criticism for this piece, but everything looks very well done. Good attention to detail, especially around the edge of the cloth. I like the lighting as well. Attention to detail is what separates a good artist from a great artist and you pretty much have it down. Man I can only hope that one day I can be as good as you. All I can say is keep up the good work!Β

Ah thanks a lot. And it's all about control and necessities. Control how much detail is necessary to gain the viewers attention; most detail being in the focal area, everything around and outside of the focal area only needs minimal detail. Cheers!
