awesome! very menacing
but i would not want the brain to be in such an exposed area. unless it's brain is enforced by a very hard shell in the shape of it's brain
or something like that

Very nice design, it's not often that Multiple eyes like that work, but in this example you've nailed it I think... not so sure about the brain like part on the back of the head or the little ears, but still definitely added to faves

nice piece, I'd suggest a complementary colour, or a color to go with all this purple/red.

Its really great, but i think "breaking" the symmetry a bit in the final steps of the sculpting
is a good habit..

I always enjoy your alien concepts, although I don't think this guy would last long with his weakest spot so exposed. Unless his brain is made of a very resistent "material". Well, I supose thats possible... if aliens exist.
Anyway, great concept, again.

Thanks! you are absolutely right ! I was thinking about getting him an armor for the back of the head and spine or a bubble!!! (could be funny) It could also be a parasite (he's been hacked)

And you are awesome, as usual!

Amazing. I love the work, but don't you agree that if we did find aliens, they wouldn't look even remotely anthropomorphic?
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
jLundhArt In reply to Valstein0 [2010-11-11 19:54:48 +0000 UTC]
Why not? They could look precisely any possible way (whitch makes the odd that they look human, or even humaniod, very low) so there isn't any real reason they couldn't look at least similar to us.

Valstein0 In reply to jLundhArt [2010-11-11 23:21:23 +0000 UTC]
My qualm with the commonness of humanoid aliens is this: If you look at life on Earth, of all the millions of species, hardly any of them look human. Yet light years away, there are human-like creatures? It would seem to me that life on other planets would be stranger than we can imagine.
That is not to say the humanoid aliens cannot be very well designed, or beautiful. But they are very unlikely. Why would evolution, with all of its possible routes, take the humanoid one on another planet? Or, like in Star Trek, Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica, nearly all aliens are human-like.

I agree with the feeling that you get when you watch those shows/movies, and I don't dispute that if we ever meet any one else "out there" they will more than likely look nothing like us.
But the chance still is there, however unlike it is that we could.
