Illustration of Maggie Holt from the web serial Pact by Wildbow (pactwebserial.wordpress.com/) , author of the wildly popular superpowered web serial Worm.Maggie's physical description wasn't terribly detailed; it's mentioned that she's a teenager (or at least still in school), with a scrapbook full of notes and tidbits of information on the magical realms underpinning the regular hum-drum world called 'reality'. Her most prominent characteristic is her red-and-white checkered scarf. The winter coat and heavy boots make sense, since the story is taking place in Canada, apparently in winter.
However, it seems that Wildbow has included a bit of an in-joke, since his previous story, Worm, featured a hugely popular Harry Potter-esque book series for children (presumably also read by certain adults) about a witch named... Maggie Holt. Hence, mussed-up dark hair and piercing green eyes for Maggie - although we're gonna draw the line at facial scars. She's far too bad-ass for goofy nonsense like that.

Welp, I've tried posting comments a couple of times recently, but they seem to disappear - or rather, they never turn up on the actual page, but if I try posting again, the site complains about 'identical posting', as though it was already there. Weird.
Either WordPress is acting up, and I need to figure out how to fix the problem on my end, or Wildbow got tired of my constant self-promotion and decided to block my constant nagging, discreetly.

Well turns out Wildbow has had quiet a few problems with Wordpress himself. This includes him losing half a chapter Β and on one occasion he had it turn up looking like it had been Rot13'd. I can;t currently comment either since either, since getting my own wordpress, it's bugger up my sign in and I am trying to fix that without deleting my Wordpress.Β
although Pyscho gecko has also disappeared but discreet blocking is not Wildbow's style. He'd usually ask the then tell then TELL people to knock it off if something irked him (like Worm spoilers)
BTW Were you Β A Mass Effect fan at all? Β and have you read Worm?

Yeah, he's mentioned having trouble getting Wordpress to release the chapters at the right time, previously; sounds like the problems are only getting worse.
I'm only vaguely familiar with Mass Effect, but I've currently read approximately half of Worm (up to around arc 16). I did see that way-cool Mass Effect/Worm crossover picture , if that's what you were going for.

That wasn't it, me but well worth knowing it's out there so many thanks. and you still have what i think is the strongest chapter in the series to come with Chrysalis's chapter five (i';m safe saying that since it wouldn't make sense if you skipped forwards and also i know you wouldn't do that anyway.
..and now. Imagine Rose Thorburn as part of the slaughterhouse nine..... feel free to do any art of that.
But the crossover I was speaking of is one I am very slowly writing set after the end of both main stories.
