EDIT: PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE COMMENTING.Okay, so, I've been getting a few comments about Donnie liking April and the such..... GUYS, THIS IS THE 80'S CARTOON, NOT THE 2003 ONE. Don does not love April, and no other possible love interests from the second series exist in this one (including Karai). Honestly, I can't even see how it's confusing, since Kala, Lotus Blossom, and Mona don't even appear in the 2k3 show. -_-
........ it never fails, does it? i mean, i'm not even all that into tmnt couples (shocker, right?), yet i STILL make pairing art of it. D:
haha, anyway, all the canon pairings of the old toon. I think they're all pretty cute. for those of you who don't know....
Michelangelo is paired with Kala, a Neutrino from Dimension X. He had a couple other crushes or whatever, I believe, but Kala was definitely the most prominent. In fact, out of all the turtles' love interests, she appears the most.
Leonardo is paired with Lotus Blossom, a ninja for hire basically. She was originally hired to kill the turtles off, but ended up switching sides. Sort of. Haha, I love this pairing, mostly because lovesick Leonardo is one of the most adorable things ever. XD I mean, the first thing he says when she speaks to him is "She's magnificent!"..... Really, Leo? The girl just kidnapped your sensei and challenged you to a fight, and you're swooning over her? XD
Raphael is paired with Mona Lisa, a college girl who got turned into a mutant. Ironically, this pairing is actually rather popular (at least compared to the other two). I mean, Mona Lisa only appears in one episode, and then mysteriously disappears. It's such a small appearance, yet she has quite a few fans.
And poor Donatello never got a love interest of his own. It's all right, Don, you can always "do" your machines as always. 8D -shot-
Ah, well, this was pretty fun to make. maybe i'll draw a new toon one, just for kicks.

Sadly, I've never seen The Next Mutation, so I know pretty much nothing about Venus. And she wasn't in the 80's cartoon, so I couldn't include her anyway. =/

I don't think 87 Don mind the lack of love interests though. Well, the show seems to hint Irma has a thing for him, but considering every time they're together it causes Donatello annoyance, I guess he'd rather not.

i think april and irma like don more than you think they are allways kissing don they kiss all the boys but don more i think they would submit if asked april once kissed don and leo raph commanded her to kiss them too and she did if april will kiss on command what more will do on command and irma is a born sub she obeys april and the turtles just like a slave if april is a sub then thats why she lets herself be catured all the time she wants to be controled

You could say Lotus is proto-Karai. Karai showed up in the Mirage comics two years after Lotus' debut. But her basic characteristic IS there, as well as having a connection with Leo.
Sadly in her run, Lotus doesn't see any profitable money venture by being a good guy, but at least parted ways with OTLeo in a good note... Karai's relationship with 2K3Leo's... was more complicated.

Back then, I don't know if there were a lot of nerdy girls. They were kind of a hidden and frightened bunch. And he wouldn't have been okay with a cheerleader, for heaven's sake. XD

I believe that the reason that Donnie's never had any serious love interests (that he let any one know about) is because he wasn't sure about how his brothers would react if he came out of the closet. >.<

huh, never really occurred to me, him being gay (i tend to subconsciously keep homosexuality out of my childhood shows- new toon? that's another story XD). but it's a perfectly reasonable possibility. and you have a point; it'd be pretty intimidating with such manly brothers. XD
