My version of commander Hurricane,leader of the pegasi before the formation of Equestria and (my headcanon ) later, Lord Hurricane,the founder and the ruler of Cloudsdale.
Yes, I consider him male and yes,that is the master sword from Legend of Zelda(I made it myself,you can ask me for the vector if you want), I thought it suited him. XD

As for the color, I couldn't decide between blue or red,looked cool in both of them, what made me decide to go with blue was the fact that:
a) his name is Hurricane, that alone associates with colder color tones
b) I made a descendant of his(distant descendant,about a 1000 years later) called Starlight ([link] ) and I wanted them to have similar color scheme(although Hurricane's is brighter).

Yes,his design was influenced by many other versions of him on Deviantart.

This was an ispiration(although now it looks nothing like him XD).

I might make the other 5 founders, but before that,here's how I picture their genders.

-Hurricane: male
-Pansy: female

-Platinum(she's the only one confirmed female XD): female
-Clover: male(I imagine him a bit dorky and insecure, but very smart and rational; it's just funnier when someone like that gets bossed around by a snooty princess XD)

-Puddinghead: male(just seems funnier that was)
-Cookie: male(honestly,could be either was,I just made him male so that at least 1 race had a leader and an assistant with the same gender)
