Description
There was a wet click in her throat.I heard it, as her lips parted,
The red sea before her silver tongue.
I heard it rumble in her belly
Breaking through acid lake
Climbing the flesh walls of her,
Stainless and virgin to light.
I heard the mucus there separate
And surrender to their majesty.
The war waged in her silence and tore her,
Those lips could not remain buttoned
From the percussion of the knives
And the bullets swirling through her teeth.
I heard the wet click in her throat
And gave refuge to her soldiers
In the asylum of my ears.

I found it a tad confusing... the last two lines in the 2nd stanza I thought were a bit muddled. I love the overall powerful imagery that you create with the description of something so simple as speaking. You bring to light the complexities that occur while one attempts to speak. It's just I found myself have to re-read a couple times to make sense of it all... and sometimes it didn't make sense at all (for better or for worse).
Overall great piece though.
