I feel the same way. MLP has done that in every new generation but if they reuse the names of g4 mane6 in gen5 then this can easily besmear the legacy of g4 if the new ones are not as good. And let's be real, the probability of g5 being as good as g4 is very very slim. G4 was lightning in a bottle.

I'm skeptical about the leaks, but I've also seen that they will give her a more urban-sounding voice. Perhaps they could get Marisa Tomei of "My Cousin Vinny" fame...

I've seen something that suggests that G4.5 is still currently being used as an animation style, so maybe they'll make a G4.5 series.

That is not guaranteed, There is a high chance that they will loose a hell of a lot of fans and not gain any new ones. 
Its a completely pointless and unnecessary risk on hasbros part.
