Description
Another spring, another exploration of the scenery. I seem to take the habit of venturing out when the weather is getting warm.Either way, someone has some explaining to do. As in, how does an old tram end up in the forest over 50 kilometers away from the only city with trams in the whole country? Beats me. Either way you look at it, this thing's been lying there probably 50 years or so. Maybe longer. Pretty much like that old car I photographed 4 years ago.
This village really has some mysteries lying around...
Update: I heard from my parents that there once live a former sailor in a nearby house. Apparently this man had transported the tram here to be a playhouse of sort.

"This village really has some mysteries lying around..."
Is this gonna turn into darkharvest00????
got some slendermans in the woods???
Anyway, the tram does look like it's been there a good amount of time, i doubt it has a barcode on it, or an expiration date. but i have my doubts that it's over 50 years old, some things can be misleading. Civil war bullets have been found that don't look over 40, wood in the forest from an old railroad that looks new. in truth, that wood was over 50 years old.
I'd try to research this as much as i can, seeing as it may have some kind of history.
then again, it is possible it had a malfunction of some kind, or it broke, so they just decided, "yeah, let's just throw it into the woods."

Jokes aside, my village has a lot of history, so there's quite a few out-of-place things you can find if you search enough.
I did a little digging to see if I find any similar trams and found this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNUH44β¦
The engine wagon has a similar design (general shape, interior, seats are the same, and similar cast iron gates). The thing is, that wagon is from 1909, so potentially the tram in this picture is even older than I estimated.
Alternatively, there was once a closer rail (for a small train though), which was the old local railway, but that was in public use until 1957 and permanently dismantled in 1966. So we're still talking about atleast 50 years of age.
The nearest modern day tram rails are in Helsinki, over 50km's from here, so this was not a "let's throw it in the woods" situation. Nor have modern trams looked like this.

This model was made in 1962 and looks way more modern and significantly bigger.

Very interesting.
it does look very similar to the one in the video.
speaking of out of place things... Ever come across a staircase?
not attached to anything, just stairs.
in the middle of the woods.
weirdest thing i've ever seen.

Oh, it gets WEIRDER.
There's FLIPPED ones, too.
like you took out a dollhouse's stairs, placed it in the woods, upside down, and left.
they vary in condition, from looking brand new, carpeted, and almost void of leaf litter, to cold stone spirals, looking like they came from a castle centuries old.
Don't believe me?

i didn't take that picture, but it perfectly illustrates what i was talking about.

That's very fascinating Jesse, I'm curious as to how it ended up out there to. A car makes sense, but a trolly? Weird. Maybe a railroad ran through there that's since been dismantled.
I always loved exploring the area around my step dad's work. I took some great photos out there. I hope you continue to show us some cool stuff, and more importantly, be safe man. Wouldn't want you to get hurt out there.

Somewhere in the distant past my village actually did have a small (60cm wide rails) railroad to support the local industry between 1911-1957. The tracks were nowhere near the picture's place though. I really love this place, since it has some colorful past. There used to be a logging site and a brick factory around, but no more. The brick factory's chimney is actually visible from a nearby bridge, so I might go search for the factory ruins later.

That's really cool man. I wish I had places to explore like that. I live in a city so its nothing but City stuff and some fields on the outskirts for me. When I lived in Reno I got to do some exploring and got to take pictures like this.

These were all at a creek that flowed through the property that my step dad worked at while I lived with him and my Mom for a year.

How the hell did a trolly end up in the forest? XD Can't blame you for exploring though. Looks beautiful out there.
